Hilary Duff made a big no-no for singers recently. At a concert in Mexico this past weekend, the singer/actress began singing into the microphone while it was still turned off. Her ‘backing track’ came on later and it was all good.
The video has already been posted on YouTube and you can check it out. There’s an obvious delay between her opening her mouth and “singing” and the track coming on. At the very least she didn’t do a monkey dance. That would have made the whole thing really obvious. She would have been booed offstage much like Ashlee Simpson was back in her SNL snafu.
Recent rumors are swirling around in the hip hop world that rapper Remy Ma has had some female relations in the past. And no, it’s not a reference to cousins or whatever. The rumor mill really got going when a woman’s video confession popped up on YouTube. The video has the woman claiming that she had a sexual experience with the aforementioned rapper.
Remy is refuting the claims but her publicist still felt the need to issue an official statement to clear up the sexual confusion. I’m not going to quote it because frankly, I don’t care. It’s not like a lesbian rapper is unheard of.
We first saw Sheryl Crow do it with adopted son Wyatt, then we saw Liv Tyler do it with her son and her father and now we have Gwen Stefani. For the last concert of The Sweet Escape Tour on Saturday at the Santa Barbara Bowl in Santa Barbara, California, the platinum blonde singer brought out her 17-month old son Kingston on stage with her.
Kingston wore the same kid-friendly noise-canceling headphones that the other babies did when they were brought on stage. A video of his on-stage appearance has made it onto YouTube. There was an ‘aww’ moment when the littly tyke started banging on the keyboard on stage. How cute!
Ashley Tisdale performed her new single “He Said, She Said” at Good Morning America last Friday. Ms. Tisdale is going to release on November 13th this Year.
Remember the video all over television and YouTube of Faith Hill bitching out a concert-goer who grabbed Tim McGraw’s crotch at a concert in Louisiana back in July? Now Hill has finally got something to say about that ugly incident which hit the headlines for quite sometime after that. “I mean, how disrespectful! And plus, it’s like sexual harassment. I mean if a man was to do that to a woman? I mean c’mon.” said Hill. I’m totally agreeing with her that if a man did that to a woman he would be arrested. That woman who did that, whoever she is, needs to class it up a little bit. I wouldn’t want to mess with Faith Hill. She seems pretty ghetto when it comes to her career and her man. But to what extent would fans and these celebs go for a brawl anywhere like it were a street fight.
Here’s the music video for the new Chris Brown single titled “Kiss Kiss” featuring T-Pain.
Chris’s new album entitled “Exclusive” will hit stores now on November 6th.
It has been reported that 50 Cent “erupted” during a meeting at his record label Interscope, after a forthcoming single and video–a collaboration with Robin Thicke–inadvertently leaked on to the Internet.
Reported by MTV News, the track “Follow My Lead” was due to be released as the third single from the rapper’s forthcoming album Curtis, and after current videos for “I Get Money” and “Ayo Technology” had dropped from rotation.
According to MTV’s sources, when 50 heard about the leak he reportedly ripped a plasma TV from the wall and threw his mobile phone through a window.
He later talked about his frustrations during an interview with DJ Kay Slay on New York’s Hot 97 radio station.
He said: “The process has been ill for me this go-around. I usually have to start a project myself, as far as Interscope. I got to lead. On the first album, ‘Wanksta’ just took off before ‘In Da Club’ came about. When we got to The Massacre, I leaked ‘Disco Inferno’ and they caught up with ‘Candy Shop.’
“This album, I threw ‘Straight To The Bank’ out there, and ‘Amusement Park’ was the joint they were supposed to assist me with going after. But when that came, it grew at the same pace that ‘Straight To The Bank’ grew. And I was like, ‘Yo, it don’t feel like it’s a difference in the support for the actual record.’”
Clips from “Follow My Lead” have since been removed from YouTube, but have already been posted elsewhere.
Picking up new talent is always a good sign that there exist culture of music that is waiting to be unearthed. That is why music reality shows and other contest held around the world to find and nurture talents are so successful. Justin Timberlake has anointed his first find for his new record label: 18-year-old Web phenom Esmee Denters. “In completely unpredicted news to all YouTubers and bloggers, we are proud to announce Esmee Denters has signed to Tennman Records and she will be joining me on tour this summer,” Timberlake, 26, said in an announcement Tuesday.”Esmee is the real deal and I cannot wait for the world to hear her,” he says, “but all of her fans on YouTube should not worry … we will keep you in the loop every step of the way.” There also lies a risk in such talent as they not proved performers and music companies have to take a risk at bring them on to the world stage.
