Madonna took to the stage in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this past weekend under a torrential downpour. Here comes the personal umbrella handler! Even though the Queen of Pop decided to ditch her high boots and modified her footwear to some more rain-appropriate gear, the singer still ate it as she slipped on stage during her performance of ‘She’s Not Me’. It goes to show that the perfectionist is still human and commits mistakes. I bet she was cursing herself over that one for not being able to control the weather. She may be queen but she’s not God. Though I bet she wishes she was.

Katy Perry, the singer who happens to be very fond of thematic outfits, channeled her inner Spaniard via a costume that seemed to be inspired by Madonna’s ‘Isla Bonita’ at the 55th Annual ONDA Awards which was held in Barcelona, Spain recently. As usual, the controversial ‘I Kissed a Girl’ singer looked cute at a button. She can pull off practically everything she decides to wear. It’s all about confidence kids. And Katy is overflowing with it without being arrogant like some people. *cough*Christina Aguilera*cough* Let’s hope Katy remains as grounded as she is right now. I would hate to see the day that she turns out like Christina.

Rihanna seems to be a great traveler and an even better crowd puller, just last night (November 13) she descended on Singapore where a sell out crowd gathered to sway to her numbers.

Rihanna is currently on a world tour and the ‘Take A Bow’ singer is just coming after completing the Australian leg of her world tour and during the Aussie leg she was joined by her R&B stud beau Chris Brown.

In other related news to Rihanna’s on going world tour, she was scheduled to make a stop over in Indonesia the very next day but has abruptly cancelled the show due to security concerns.

“They said Indonesia’s security is not supportive,” Troy Waroka the promoter of the event told the local press. “The concert will be postponed until January or February.”

I really feel for the Indonesian crowd who have recently been deprived of such international events in the recent past but its somewhat the same case with Pakistan where in the last one year many international sports teams have refused to tour because of the heightened security concerns.

Clique Girlz are going to be on the road touring with The Cheetah Girls on the One World Tour. The tour kicks off on October 8th in Austin and wraps up on December 21st in San Diego. Take a look on the Clique Girlz’ MySpace page to see if they are coming to a city near you!

Tough times never come alone! And same is happening with our lovely singer Madonna!

Some days back, the pop queen Madonna performed at the Wembley Stadium in London during her World Tour. She was clearly late by about 40 minutes in starting the concert which clearly meant that the show had to finish much later than planned.

The 50-year-old heartthrob singer recently came to know about the strict curfew laws of the Wembley Stadium when she was fined US$100,000 for every fifteen minutes her concert exceeded past the established curfew.

In total Madonna was smacked down by a mammoth sum of US$270,000.

Is it a huge amount for the pop queen to pay or just some chump change? What do you say?

Britney Spears’ cameo video appearance on Madonna’s ‘Sticky & Sweet’ tour has leaked onto YouTube. The clip was from the Queen of Pop’s kickoff show at the Millennium Stadium in the Welsh city of Cardiff a couple of weeks back. Brit is seen stuck in an elevator and whispering the lines “express yourself, don’t repress yourself” and ends with her saying “It’s Britney b—.” Maybe this is some twisted indication that Britney will be back on tour some time soon too. At the rate her improvements are going, it’s not that far off to believe. Someone’s making a comeback and she wants everyone to know.

It has recently been announced that Janet Jackson is selling out by starring in an MTV reality show. The untitled project which has already started casting will feature Janet as she mentors a group of aspiring singers and dancers. The project will be filmed in the coming months as she prepares for her world tour. One of the show’s producers says “It’s really about finding who’s the next Janet Jackson or Justin Timberlake or Usher. And we’ll find it from a pool of people who you wouldn’t typically find it from. We’ll go to YMCAs, church groups, local community centers and try to cast the show.”

Madonna has announced the dates for her world tour, which start in late August in Wales. The tour—which is called the Sticky and Sweet Tour—is Madonna’s first under her 10-year, multi million-dollar deal with Live Nation. Ticket prices are going to be between $55 and $300

Celine Dion went into overdrive when she performed at O2 Arena in London, England on Tuesday. That day marked the first time that Celine has been in the UK for over ten years. She kicked off her concert with the upbeat ‘I Drove All Night’ and ended her show with the ballad ‘My Heart Will Go On’. Before embarking on her world tour, the 40-year old singer just completed a record 5-year, 5 nights a week show at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. After her tour, the singer will focus more of her time on her family and other interests.

Rihanna has banned umbrellas from her UK tour.

The 20-year-old star has insisted the item be confiscated from fans, in case they injure themselves trying to copy the dance routine to her hit song ‘Umbrella’.

Andy McDonald, a security guard at the Aberdeen Exhibition Centre, where Rihanna performed on Monday, said: “We were taking precautions over a potential accident. We were told Rihanna’s song features dancing with umbrellas on stage. We didn’t want the crowd following her actions and someone getting their eye poked out.”

The decision follows reports of several injuries caused by umbrella-related incidents during Rihanna’s recent European dates. One fan due to attend one of the singer’s upcoming shows said: “I was really looking forward to whipping out my umbrella during the song. I have been practising the routine for weeks but it has all been for nothing.”

Kylie Minogue has asked Jean Paul Gaultier to design the outfits for her upcoming tour.

The renowned French designer has already met with the ‘2 Hearts’ singer, who kicks off her European tour ‘KylieX2008′ in Paris on May 6, to show her his “sophisticated” vision for her stage wardrobe.

Kylie’s designer friend William Barker revealed: “We’re working with Jean Paul Gaultier on the costumes.The outfits are incredibly sophisticated – we are moving on to the next level, which is what she did with her new album ‘X’.”

Kylie wants Jean Paul – who was behind Madonna’s show-stopping outfits for her infamous ‘Blonde Ambition Tour’ in 1990 – to create her a collection of outfits that reflect a more mature stage in her life as she is turning 40 in May.
