Alexandra Burke getting a US launch

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

The British singer and winner of the famous X Factor show has apparently stuck gold yet again when Clive Davis, a music mogul that can apparently boast with being Whitney Houston’s mentor, said he would help her launch her career in the US. A source related the following on the matter: “Alexandra was celebrating her number one record with friends and family. She got a huge shock when Clive appeared and said he thinks she’s the future of pop music.” The long arm of Simon Cowell apparently extends at a great length indeed… but it all seems to be in Alexandra Burke’s benefit. Well, the US always is a good market for the Pop/R&B scene… you’d think they would’ve run out of CD’s by now.

Whitney Houston is Not a Morning Person

Monday, August 10th, 2009

Good Morning America just realized that they were wrong to think that they could get Whitney Houston to rise and shine with the rest of the country. The singer’s upcoming performance for the morning talk show next month will be pre-taped as the iconic diva absolutely refuses to perform at 7:30 AM. A source from GMA says that the producers couldn’t refuse Whitney’s request because she’s such a legend and that they are so happy to have her. Apparently, what Whitney wants, Whitney gets. How I wish I could have her live. Very few people have that much of a commanding presence.

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

Forget having a white Christmas – we’re going to have a Whitney Christmas! According to the head of her label Clive Davis, the diva’s first album of original material since 2002 will be out by the holidays this year. He says that 4 songs have already been completed for the as yet untitled album and 4 more will be put to tape later this month. Songs for the album have been produced or written by the likes of will.i.am, Sean Garrett and Akon who says “The voice is there; I don’t think anyone could ever take that from her. As long as we apply that voice to hit records, she’ll be right back where she left off.”
