Madonna returns to Michigan on Nov. 18 for her first home state performance in seven years. Now that’s a “see ya later”!
The pop superstar will be at Ford Field on Nov. 18. The home of the Detroit Lions also has hosted the Super Bowl as well as shows by another hometown favorite, rapper Eminem.
Details on ticket sales for the Madonna show will be announced next week.
The Detroit Free Press reports it would be Madonna’s first concert in the state since 2001, when she performed two shows at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
Her latest international tour launches its North American leg Oct. 4 in New Jersey.

Here’s some exciting news for you music lovers. It was just confirmed on Wednesday that Prince will be performing at the Coachella music festival near Palm Springs later this month. Considering the less than stellar line up this year, Prince is a really big step up. If you compare this year’s line up to previous years, a good 5 to 10 artists of Prince’s caliber are on the line up. This year, we just got Prince. It’s a pretty good assurance that ticket sales will be going up too. The purple majesty will take the stage on Saturday, April 26.
The Jonas Brothers pulled a fast one again by showing up for their concert ticket sales in Dallas on Saturday. The band of brothers surprised their throngs of screaming teenybopper fans by playing on an awning above the NOKIA Theater along with camera crews of ‘Ellen’ in tow.
After their surprise show, the boys were nice enough to stop on their way out to shake hands with some fans. Isn’t it nice to have some positive role models for the kids? Let’s just hope that they wouldn’t grow up to be like Britney Spears. And let’s hope that the boys would stay cute forever.
Melanie Chisolm, more famously known as Sporty Spice, is arguably the most talented Spice Girl out of the five and she is looking to make more people believe that with a solo show that she has scheduled in Manhattan. Just as she did with her solo gig in LA, the singer will be playing her own material with her band during a night off from the Spice Girls reunion tour. The gig will be on February 9th, a Saturday, at The Grand Ballroom in Manhattan Center. Tickets go for $35 in advance or $40 at the door. Tickets will be available via Ticketmaster and Live Nation of January 18th. Sporty will take the stage at 9:15PM.
Parents everywhere are breathing a collective sigh of relief. Maybe Christmas isn’t ruined after all.
It has been announced that Miley Cyrus, a.k.a. Hannah Montana, is extending her extremely popular tour and adding 14 more shows. The shows begin January 11 in Detroit and go until January 31 in Miami.
Disney says it was an overwhelming response from fans that made them decide to add the additional shows. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the fact that it’s a huge revenue maker.
One downfall - the Jonas Brothers, who are touring with Miley, will not be on the added shows. Instead, Aly & AJ will join Miley from January 11 to January 24, with another “special guest” appearing for the remainder of the shows.
Spice Girls mania is alive and kicking in the US, a little quiet in the UK and close to dead in South America. The girls have cancelled the only announced concert in South America. They sent an email to fans that had already signed up for tickets to the Buenos Aires show in explanation.
They say that due to their solo projects and family obligations, they are unable to extend the tour and that the Buenos Aires date is one that they are finding hard to fit into their schedules. As some sort of consolation, the girls will be holding contests for South American fans. The prize of which is a trip to London, flight and accommodations taken care of, to watch one of their shows.
