Lady Gaga finally released the music video extravaganza that is ‘Telephone’ last week and I am amazed with her ability to infuse social commentary into her high concept clips. The pop singer talked about the video’s concept and how she got Quentin Tarantino’s approval, saying “There certainly is a Tarantino-inspired quality in the video. I mostly love the way he uses different forms to create something new. His direct involvement in the video came from him lending me the Pussy Wagon. We were having lunch one day in Los Angeles and I was telling him about my concept for the video and he loved it so much he said, ‘You gotta use the Pussy Wagon.’”

In a recent interview with The Advocate, Ke$ha talked about being a huge fan of the transgender community. The trashy pop singer said “I am a huge fan of the transgender community. I am so not a proper, good female. I can’t dance in high heels and I’m just so not girly, but then I see these men with these banging bodies, dancing in heels, singing, and having so much fun with so much makeup on. That makes me honestly want to be a better woman. It is so fascinating that someone can commit their whole entire lifestyle to being such a fantastic woman when I’m such a bum about it.”

It seems that Mick Jagger is really concerned about Joss Stone’s singing… so much so that he is constantly trying to get her to quit smoking. This is what Joss Stone related on the matter: “Mick Jagger is always having a go at me for smoking. I’ve known him and the rest of the band for years now and I love them. Mick is always on at me about drinking honey and buying humidifiers for my voice. I follow his advice, then he sees me smoking a roll-up and goes mental. I try to stop, I do, but it’s hard.” Well, it’s good Joss Stone is taking advice from Mick Jagger and not the other members of the band, Keith Richards might have the experience, but he probably doesn’t do so well in the vice department.

A plane was in route from Mexico City to Huatulco earlier this week but due to an altercation between Mexican singer Alejandra Guzman and some fan, the plane canceled the trip and just went back to Mexico City. It sucked for everyone on the flight who were so ready for their Pacific beach vacation. According to the singer’s rep, the passenger kept pestering her for a photo and made a reckless attempt to photograph Alejandra despite her requests for privacy. Her management also added “Guzman was not on drugs or drinking, as some media have erroneously mentioned. Alejandra Guzman’s assistant asked the passenger repeatedly and in a friendly way to respect the singer’s privacy on the flight. The passenger ignored that.”

Courtney Love has lost legal control of her daughter Frances Bean Cobain. The legal guardians appointed to care for Frances are Kurt Cobain’s mother and his sister. The guardianship was set this past Friday due to a “long period of unstable conduct” and Courtney Love did not appear in court. As sad as it sounds, I have a feeling that the rock singers’ spawn might be used to that kind of behavior from her mother by now. It was bound to happen. I am actually pretty surprised that it took this long for Courtney’s guardianship to get revoked. There goes Courtney’s meal ticket.

Singer Christina Milian and music producer The Dream are now officially husband and wife. The couple got secretly married last Friday at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. Apparently, the newlyweds applied for their marriage license last month. Christina rented a wedding dress, shoes and a veil for the measly price of $200 while The Dream shelled out $100 for a rented tux. Well, the world is in a recession and D-list celebrities need to save everything they have because they surely aren’t getting bucks from their careers. Congratulations to the couple! Now we can do a countdown on how long they will last.

Dr. Conrad Murray says that he didn’t have a clue that Michael Jackson had unusual problems when he signed on to be his doctor. The suspicious doctor, in a statement to CNN made through his publicist, said that he didn’t know what drugs the late singer was taking or whether he was addicted when he took the job. The publicist also said that Dr. Murray had no way of knowing, other than accepting the King of Pop at his word if he was taking drugs. No way of knowing? Michael’s body was found with multiple injection sites, including ones on his neck! And he’s a doctor! He should know!

Chris Brown is really owning up to being a douche. The singer let his anger get the best of him at Lucky Strike Lanes in New York City earlier this week. After a few hours inside with friends, Chris was forcefully removed from the bowling alley. A source said “Lucky Strikes is pretty chill on Monday nights, but Chris was ready to party, and that’s what he did. He definitely looked like he was being forced to leave, like his friends knew it was in his best interest. He was acting kind of crazy, partying too much, and making moves on a really young-looking girl.”

Following Michael Jackson’s death, his three children were accompanied by a therapist to view their father’s lifeless body to help them understand his death and to begin the grieving process. The singer’s brother, Jermaine Jackson, explained that it was as tough to inform the kids as it was to begin grieving himself. He also talked about showing the kids Michael’s body, saying “I know it’s tough, but I think it was the best thing to do. At first I was against it, but what do you say if you don’t show them?” I sincerely hope that the kids are given enough time, space and the proper tools to deal with their grief healthily.

Beth Ditto is still on her tirade against Katy Perry, responding to Katy’s recent opinion that she is not impressed with The Gossip lead singer. The feeling seems to be mutual as Beth explains to Spinner that she still feels Katy’s success with ‘I Kissed a Girl’ is offensive to gay people. Beth said “I don’t care if she writes a song about kissing a girl, but there are people who kiss girls in their everyday life, and it’s not as easy as just kissing a girl and everyone loving you. It’d be really rad to hear her talk about something like that.” At the heart of it though, Beth is trying to shed light on the hypocrisy of the industry by putting Katy and her song on some sort of pedestal but still alienating gay and lesbians any other time.

I have already tried to block out the fact that Brooke Hogan is a reality celebrity daughter and also a so-called recording artist but it doesn’t seem to work because she just keeps going at you and reminds you of it every time. What she records may not actually make her a certified artist but it worked well enough that someone actually decided to give her another chance. On July 21, Brooke will release her 2nd album ‘The Redemption’. The press release for her album read “On ‘The Redemption’, fans will take notice as Brooke solidifies herself not only as a pop singer but as a songwriter with style. The album is a pop wonderland with up-beat, sexy dance rhythms and hip-hop influences, all overlaid with Brooke’s signature voice.” She wishes.

Jordin Sparks has recently released the new music video for her hit song ‘Battlefield’ which is off of her sophomore effort of the same name. When asked about the album and song title, the singer replied “To me, the title ‘Battlefield’ is about strength and perseverance. Things can go from good to bad in an instant, it could be family, friendship or work; and my favorite line in the song is, ‘you better go and get your armor,’ because it’s telling you to be prepared for that time so that you can overcome it.” The American Idol alum’s album will be out on July 21st.

Apart from signing on to do a movie, Christina Aguilera is currently working on a new album. The singer recently talked to the LA Times about the new sound she’s trying to come up with. The 28-year old said “My last album had a vintage, retro, glam appeal. And this next album which I am almost finished and am about to release has a very modern sense about it. Futuristic in terms of looking into the future and giving it a new twist and a new sensibility. I am working with a lot of electro artists to make that come alive. That is what really inspires me at the moment.”

Kris Allen is still celebrating his American Idol win even after weeks of being announced champion. The singer got into the celebratory spirit once again by singing a song to Minnie Mouse last Friday at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The 23-year old American Idol season 8 winner told the audience that “It feels good, but it hasn’t completely sunk in yet.” That’s probably why he’s still celebrating. Kris was able to meet with fans and also performed the Kanye West song ‘Heartless’ for thousands of theme park goers and was also honored in a celebratory parade through the theme park.

It seems that Adam Lambert wants to stay in the closet as long as he can, which is why I find it a bit too hypocritical that he still preaches about being true to yourself. In an interview earlier this week, the singer said “It’s a really, really cool thing to be able to show people that you can be yourself, and you should be proud of yourself, and you should own who you are and what you’re about, and never make apologies for it.” The American Idol runner up also relishes in the opportunity to be an eccentric role model and show youngsters how to be comfortable in their own skin, saying “It feels really amazing to be able to try and pass that on to kids and young adults who don’t have a role model like that.” True, except he’s not really doing that by staying closeted.
