Chris Brown is Out Solo

A solo Chris Brown was spotted as he arrived at the ‘Luxury with a French Flair’ Sofitel Hotel in Beverly Hills on Tuesday. the 18-year old R&B signer recently got back from his romantic weekend in Florida with his current flame Rihanna. I guess vacation’s over and it’s back to work for those two. Rihanna’s continuing her tour of Europe and Chris is set to jet off to Germany next week to kick off the European leg of his concert tour. He will kick off in Munich on March 6. Maybe Rihanna and Chris can share a European holiday this time around.

Rihanna Crashes

Extra is reporting that Rihanna was involved in a car accident on Sunday following the Grammy Awards ceremony. After she performed her two-song set with 80s band The Time (she sang ‘Umbrella’ and ‘Don’t Stop the Music’) as well as taking home a Grammy for Rap/Sung Collaboration for her hit song ‘Umbrella’, the Barbados singer was inside her car outside the Island Def Jam party when another vehicle rammed into it. Fortunately, no one sustained injuries and everyone was free to party while Rihanna can keep on singing her music and shielding us under her umbrella… ella… ella… eh. The joke is getting old. I need a new one.

Rihanna’s Grammy Style Salute

Rihanna’s Grammy Style Salute

Style queen Rihanna came at the InStyle and Grammy Salute to Fashion at nightclub Boulevard 3 on Thursday in Los Angeles wearing a black lace dress and ‘Fiona’ shoes by Jimmy Choo. Did I say style queen? Not this time. This dress was a miss. I think her stylist had a temporary case of insanity when this dress was picked.

Anyway, the 19-year old Barbados singer will be bringing together several decades for her Grammy performance. She will be joining 80s band The Time. Other performers include Feist, Beyonce, Foo Fighters, Alicia Keys, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Aretha Franklin and Mary J. Blige.

Janet Jackson Needs Help

I, for one, think that Janet Jackson’s newest single ‘Feedback’ is a great song but it appears that it has failed to connect with the public. The song has failed to get into the top 30s on the singles’ charts. In addition to that, according to Soundscan, the song has dropped from #44 last week to #66 this week. That’s some sad news.

On a brighter note, Rihanna continues to rule as her new single ‘Don’t Stop the Music’ jumps from #15 to #6. Maybe Janet needs to do more stuff like Rihanna’s. It’s obvious it’s what the music fans want.

Rihanna Crushes Rumors

Saturday, November 17th, 2007

Some say she isn’t, others say she is. But for the umpteenth time, Rihanna squashed rumors that she’s dating actor Josh Hartnett.

A fake quote came out a while ago at the World Music Awards in Monte Carlo that Rihanna admitted to being with Josh and that she is very much in love with him. But Rihanna has gone on the record saying “That is completely incorrect. People quote me on things that I never said. That quote is not a real quote. It’s not right at all.” If you read between the lines, she’s saying that she’s single. There’s hope for all those still lusting for her.

Who Hates Rihanna?

Who Hates Rihanna?

Rihanna did a killer performance at Entertainment Weekly’s Annual Must-List Party on Thursday in New York City. The 20-year old singer is even featured in this week’s issue of the magazine. In it, she was asked about what it’s like to go back to her hometown.

She says: “A lot of them hate me, but a lot of them love me.” She explains that what she wears or doesn’t wear often makes it in front of newspapers and featured on news programs. And that while they appreciate her representing Barbados, she didn’t have to put Tridents – the symbol of the Barbados flag – in her videos.

In response to those haters, she says: “Whatever. I’m still doing this ‘cause I love to do it and you’re not going to stop me.”

Rihanna, Shop Boyz rocket to the top of hot 100

Rihanna, Shop Boyz rocket to the top of hot 100

With explosive sales in their first week of digital release, Rihanna’s “Umbrella” and Shop Boyz’ “Party Like a Rockstar” rocket to the peak of the Billboard Hot 100. “Umbrella” soars 42-1 with 277,000 digital sales; the highest debut week sum since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking downloads in 2003. Meanwhile, “Party Like a Rockstar” flies 52-2 thanks to sales of 173,000 digital downloads.
For Rihanna, this is the second Hot 100 chart-topper of her young career, following “SOS” in 2006. As for “Party Like a Rockstar” its digital arrival results in a steep decline for a similarly named but musically different cut, “Do It Just Like a Rockstar” by Freak Nasty featuring Crazy Mike. That song, which has been available digitally and was mistakenly purchased by many consumers thinking it was the Shop Boyz track, plummets off the chart from No. 45 after a 62% drop in sales.
Last week’s Hot 100 No. 1, Maroon 5’s “Makes Me Wonder” slips to No. 3 this week. T-Pain’s “Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin’)” featuring Yung Joc is down 2-4, while Daughtry’s “Home” inches up 6-5. Justin Timberlake’s “Summer Love” rises 9-6, followed by Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” which is down 3-7. Fergie’s “Big Girls Don’t Cry” climbs 21-8 and is the chart’s greatest digital gainer, giving the Black Eyed Peas vocalist her fourth top 10 hit from her 2006 solo album, “The Dutchess”.
Unsurprisingly, “Idol” winner Jordin Sparks has the Hot 100’s top debut with “This Is My Now” at No. 15. At 74,500 downloads, it’s the lowest first-week sales total for an “Idol” coronation song ever, although this year’s release is the first to be digital only, accompanied by a multi-track EP. “Idol” runner-up Blake Lewis debuts at No. 18 with his version of Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name”.
On Hot Latin Songs, Enrique Iglesias’ “Dimelo” is No. 1 for a third week, while John Mayer’s “Waiting on the World To Change” returns to No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart with a 3-1 move. The song previously topped the chart in late February.
