For those of you who were absolutely baffled as to how Mariah Carey became such a huge success in Brazil, I have the reason for you. The curvaceous singer’s cover of Foreigner’s ‘I Want to Know What Love is’ has been on the Brazilian music charts for 20 consecutive weeks at the top spot and it the longest chart topper in the country’s history. It turns out that Mariah’s song was turned into the theme song for one of Brazil’s popular soap operas, ‘Viver a Vida’. The fact that it’s been tied into the soap opera explains the popularity of her song. It doesn’t necessarily mean that they love her.

Lady Gaga is busy taking over the world with her Monster Ball Tour and putting the finishing touches on her music video for ‘Telephone’ with Beyonce but a rep at her label has revealed that there are talks about a 3D concert and DVD in the near future for the princess of pop. Is this what the singer has been prepping her fans for when the deluxe edition of her album ‘The Fame Monster’ included a pair of 3D glasses? That’s the only other reason that I can think of and I am utterly excited about this piece of news. I can already imagine the crazy stuff that she’s going to pull off.

Movie hunk Jake Gyllenhaal and pop heartthrob Joe Jonas star as tennis aces in very short shorts in a new music video.

The pair get a beating on the court from a female player in the promo for US rock band Vampire Weekend.

First up in the video for Giving Up the Gun is Jonas, who plays an impressive shot through his legs. But it’s not enough to beat his opponent and he begrudgingly shakes her hand at the end of the match before wiping it down his shirt in disgust.

Gyllenhaal tries to psyche out the girl with menacing looks and a throat-cutting gesture before their match. He then whips off his tracksuit bottoms to reveal his super-tight shorts.

The Prince of Persia star still loses though as the girl blasts a shot into his backside and leaves him sprawled out on the floor. Gyllenhaal goes to shake hands and hug her at the end of the match, but then drags her down into the net with him.

Rolling Stones star Ronnie Wood has apologised to his ex-girlfriend Katia Ivanova for trying to hit her last year.

The 62-year-old recently turned up on Ivanova’s doorstep to apologise for his actions, which led Katia, 21, to dump him in December last year. He received a caution from the police.

Katia said: “I forgave him and showed him round my flat. We ate a takeaway, drank water and laughed about how crazy our relationship had been.”

She added: “He stopped drinking a month ago and seemed calmer. His eyes looked brighter and his skin clearer.”

However, she confirmed that she is not planning to reunite with the guitarist and branded his new girlfriend, model Ana Araujo, too young for him.

Though it was previously reported that Joe Jonas would be making an appearance on the hit ABC show ‘Brothers and Sisters’, it seems that the singer won’t be joining the cast after all. After consulting his busy schedule, Joe had to pull out of the gig and now, some kid named Cody Longo is taking over for his supposed part. It doesn’t sound as exciting now without one of the Jonas Brothers involved. That certainly wouldn’t give the spike in ratings that the show was probably banking on. I wonder what Joe is so busy about. It’s not like his band has anything going for them right now.

Charles Kelley, a member of the country band Lady Antebellum, was recently interviewed and was asked about being famous. The musician said “I guess people are hoping for big things. We’re out here at the shows, and they’re connecting, but it’s not like we’re on Perez Hilton! Until Perez Hilton blogs about you, I guess you’re not famous yet!” Perez is more famous than celebrities that actually deserve credit and fame. But Charles has a point. If you’re not on Perez’s radar, even to just make fun of you, you’re not worth watching. Hey Charles! Did you know that you just got quoted on his blog for this?

The singer and his wife for the time being, Gwyneth Paltrow, have apparently upset their neighbors recently with the fence plans for their house. It seems that when you want to build a ten-foot metal security barrier, people are going to start complaining. This is what one of Chris Martin’s neighbors said on the matter: “It’s rather over the top. Who cares who he is? You can’t get round the side of the houses and into the gardens anyway. Other houses in the street are as much at risk of opportunist burglaries as his is. We don’t ask for huge fences between our homes.” Maybe that’s only because Chris Martin can actually afford to turn his home into a fortress, but wouldn’t guard dogs be more efficient? Still, what is Chris Martin afraid of? That somebody might come in and steal his music? Not a big risk there, now is there?

Former pop star Aaron Carter has invested in the Fort Lauderdale pizza restaurant Slice and the singer is hawking it on his Twitter. Aaron said “Hey everyone! Important message! To all of you who enjoy food! The way I finally do now! I’m part owner in the greatest restaurant EVER!!! www.Slicefortlauderdale.com in other words where I am everyday! Address is all there at the website. See you tomorrow!” I guess he finally figured out that the music thing just isn’t working for him. The question that remains now is if it’s wise to invest in a restaurant in this crappy economy that we have. But then again, it’s better than investing in the Miami Dolphins.

Creed lead singer Scott Stapp and his wife Jaclyn are expecting their second child together in the summer. The couple already has a 3-year old daughter Milan and Jagger, Scott’s 13-year old child from a previous relationship whom Jaclyn has legally adopted. The has-been rock star said “When Jaclyn told me we were having another baby, I was overwhelmed with joy and again reminded what this life is for. We are so thankful for God’s blessings.” Congratulations to the family! Now all that’s left is for his career to actually mean something again and 2010 will shape up to be a great year for Scott.

Mariah Carey recently released the new music video for her new single ‘H.A.T.E.U.’. The video was shot on the beach in Malibu and was directed by video and film director Brett Ratner. Expect a remix of the song to come out soon. Rumor is going around that Jermaine Dupri will be the producer and Big Boi will lend his rapper skills to the singer’s song. ‘H.A.T.E.U.’ is the third single off of Mariah’s latest studio effort ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’. Rolling Stones rocker Ronnie Wood is reportedly ‘hatching a plan’ to win back his estranged wife Jo.

The 62-year-old guitarist left Jo, 54, last year for 20-year-old Ekaterina Ivanova but he reportedly recently broke down after drinking two bottles of vodka.

The breakdown allegedly came after three weeks of rows with Ekaterina, which led to his arrest for assault after a public bust-up.

A source told UK newspaper The People: “Ronnie would do anything to get Jo back. He still loves her to death and wants to spend the rest of his life with her.

“Ronnie told Tyrone and a bodyguard he wants to hatch a plan to get Jo back. That is his main priority – not Ekaterina. He knows he did the wrong thing ditching Jo and realises he fell for the wrong girl in Ekaterina.”

Leona Lewis is seeking for your help. The singer has teamed up with the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) to help spread the word against animal suffering. To help out, Leona recently released a video to support the cause. She said “I’ve always been a huge advocate for any charities that are trying to help animals, because they are trying to change laws to protect animals – which I think is amazing…One reason animals are so vulnerable to cruelty is because there is no universal agreement between nations that animals can suffer and feel pain… The campaign for a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare could be the beginning of the end for animal cruelty across the world. It’s up to us to give these animals a voice, and put a stop to cruelty and neglect, right now.”

Stephen Gately, the 33-year old singer of Irish boy band Boyzone, died last Saturday on the Spanish island of Majorca, where he was vacationing with his husband Andrew Cowles. According to UK’s News of the World, “the gay singer’s coming out ten years ago caused a sensation in the pop music world. .. He married [Cowles] in a civil union in March 2006. His manager Louis Walsh was unaware of Stephen’s sexuality when he selected him for the band and has said that, had he known, he would have thought twice before picking him, citing that ‘It wasn’t cool then to have a gay guy in a band.’” Rest in peace Stephen.

I wasn’t really feeling the whole pop rock thing that Ashley Tisdale came out with for the first single off of her sophomore album. I just don’t think that the style of the music was her. Fortunately for fans of the singer, her second single proves that The Tiz is here to stay as she’s doing pure dance pop where she belongs. ‘Crank it Up’ is a total Britney Spears rip off but I mean that as a big compliment for Ashley. The song is the type that just gets better and better the more you listen to it. Mind you, the video is also definitely sexier than anything that Ashley has done in the past.

Just days after the tragic death of boyfriend DJ AM, model Hayley Wood has released a statement, denying the rumors that the couple’s breakup caused the untimely passing. Hayley said “Any indication that this horribly tragic accident happened because of a rumored breakup is not only untrue but disgusting. We were very much together at the time of his passing, and I love him very much.” I can’t imagine the pain that she’s going through right now. I guess I still am fortunate to have not gone through any pain like losing someone so tragically. My condolences go out to Hayley and the rest of DJ AM’s family and loved ones.

Trace Cyrus was recently seen out with someone but before you go pointing and screaming that he’s back with Demi Lovato, think again. The Metro Station singer recently took out Demi’s doppelganger out for a romantic dinner at Katsuya and a make out session in front of paparazzi. Yuck! Is this some sort of envy tactic? Is he trying to make Demi jealous? Let me be the first to say that dating someone who looks like your ex only makes you look like a tool and a douche bag. While he was out doing that, Demi has a #1 album, friends in high places and a career on the verge of really taking off.

Debbie Rowe has lashed out at paparazzi, answering a question with the promise of a punch.

Rowe was captured on camera coming out of a building and telling a photographer, who was asking her questions about Michael Jackson’s children, she would punch him in the face.

She then made her way to a car, looking angry and flustered, accompanied by a young woman.

Meanwhile, Rowe issued a statement through her lawyer stating that she will not be attending the memorial for Michael Jackson in Los Angeles.

The statement read: “Although Debbie had originally planned to attend tomorrow’s Staples Center memorial service, we have concluded with Debbie that she will not be attending.

“The onslaught of media attention has made it clear her attendance would be an unnecessary distraction to an event that should focus exclusively on Michael’s legacy.

“Debbie will continue to celebrate Michael’s memory privately.”

Rowe is Jacko’s ex-wife and former dermatological nurse, who went on to bear two children by the singer, Prince Michael, 12, and Paris Katherine, 11.

She is currently weighing her options regarding seeking custody of them.

Jordin Sparks has recently released the new music video for her hit song ‘Battlefield’ which is off of her sophomore effort of the same name. When asked about the album and song title, the singer replied “To me, the title ‘Battlefield’ is about strength and perseverance. Things can go from good to bad in an instant, it could be family, friendship or work; and my favorite line in the song is, ‘you better go and get your armor,’ because it’s telling you to be prepared for that time so that you can overcome it.” The American Idol alum’s album will be out on July 21st.

Beyonce has released a new music video for her single ‘Ego’. It’s the fifth single off of her latest album ‘I Am… Sasha Fierce’. The 27-year old singer talked to Entertainment Weekly about the video saying “My goal for [the] video is simplicity. In ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)’, I saw this old tape of Bob Fosse’s wife, and I used that as inspiration. I thought in this world, with all the technology and everything that’s going on, to strip everything down—great idea. So I kind of did the same thing, but glossy and black, for ‘Ego’.”
