The adorable Taylor Swift won Best Female Video by beating out Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Beyonce at the MTV VMAs. It was the country singer’s first VMA but her moment was rudely taken from her. When Taylor started to give her acceptance speech, Kanye West jumped up on stage and took her mic to proclaim that Beyonce really had one of the best videos of all time. What a douche bag! The crowd then started to boo and the rapper stormed off stage and left Taylor speechless. All of that went down just a few minutes before she was set to take the stage again to perform.

As a favor to her husband, Nick Cannon, who just happens to be the host of America’s Got Talent, Mariah Carey performed on the show last week. The curvaceous singer sang her latest single ‘Obsessed’. There was something mighty off about her performance though. Mariah’s performance was very reminiscent on Britney Spears’ VMA 2007 performance – dull, disappointing and all sorts of awful. I can’t say that I’m not surprised. The song she sang is mediocre at best so I can’t really appreciate it if she performs it and I can tell that she’s singing to a backing track. I almost fell asleep watching her.

Heidi Montag was pretty bad when she performed her song ‘Body Language’ at the Miss Universe competition last Sunday. Actually, she wasn’t as bad as I originally thought. ‘The Hills’ star lip synched her way through her performance and was totally trying to give off a Britney Spears vibe from the MTV VMAs in 2000. Heidi is no Britney though. But hey, I give her props for trying. However, Heidi’s attempt still qualifies as embarrassingly bad. I guess the pageant organizers were trying to save up by not hiring some big name artist to perform instead of Heidi. I hope they realized what a big mistake that was.

There’s a new 2009 MTV VMAs promo video that has come out featuring ‘Gossip Girl’ actress Leighton Meester and Cobra Starship tackling the Broadway musical ‘ West Side Story’s’ song ‘Tonight’. The video was taped at the Transit Museum in Brooklyn and made use of a vintage New York City subway car. And if you’re impressed by the dance moves, there’s good reason behind that. The moves were choreographed by the amazing Wade Robson. Cobra Starship is nominated for 2 VMAs including Best Pop Video. The band is nominated alongside Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and Beyonce. I wonder who will win.

The Jonas Brothers had quite a few busy days after the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. They had to make responses to the jokes made by host Russell Brand about their virginity and wearing purity rings. Going into the night, it seemed that the brothers were able to completely push any awkwardness away as they were more preoccupied by extreme want of meeting Britney Spears. Kevin said before the show “We really hope we get to meet her! That would be an honor. You want to pull for Britney and hope for the best!” Joe also revealed the girl in him by saying “She was the first CD I ever bought, so it would be cool!” Nick was also heard excitedly exclaiming “I wanna meet her!” They finally got their wish at the end of the night.

Britney Spears wore a custom Versace dress, H Stern Jewels and Versace shoes as she received the award for Best Female Video for ‘Piece of Me’ at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards at Paramount Pictures Studios in Los Angeles last weekend. Britney had a short comedy sketch with ‘Superbad’ actor Jonah Hill before walking out to the stage to introduce the show. She may not have performed but she did open the show. As the 26-year old singer walked onto the stage, she received a standing ovation. During her acceptance speech, she thanked God and her two sons. Later that night, she also picked the top award, Video of the Year for ‘Piece of Me’.

“Think before you speak” – An old proverb taught in junior school to save you from embarrassment but why the superstars don’t pay any heed to it.

Probably, they do so to stay in the gossip or prove their innocence.

You should be careful while speaking if you have a limited storage capacity of words or you will have to be apologetic like the stunning singer Jordin Sparks.

During the live MTV awards ceremony, the 18 year old, American Idol winner Jordin Sparks called out to the host, “It’s not bad to wear a promise ring because not everybody – guy or girl – wants to be a slut.” after he mocked the Jonas Brothers for sporting virginal ‘purity rings.’
It is to be noted that these comments came from a singer who herself wears a ‘purity ring’ to show her virginity.

Lately, while talking to Entertainment Weekly, Jordin regretted, “I wish I would’ve worded it differently – that somebody who doesn’t wear a promise ring isn’t necessarily a slut – but I can’t take it back now.”

Alas! Her apology can not undo the hurt feelings of her fans however; this example can serve only as learning for future.

Just days after her mother Lynn Spears’ tell-all book about the Barbie doll of pop music, Britney Spears was caught on tape while stealing the famous “Moonman” statuettes (Just concentrate on the look on her face in the photo).

Britney is back and back with a BANG!

Dressed in an immaculate silver frock, strappy heels and a beautiful smile, she looted the event by grabbing the first three moonman statuettes of her career.

After a disastrous performance at the last year’s MTV Video Music Awards, she proved that she is the darling of pop music.

Britney Spears started the MTV VMA 2008 by saying, “Thank you so much. Thank you for all the love. I’m here tonight to celebrate a very important birthday, the 25th anniversary of the VMAs. This is the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards and it starts right now.”

The stunning pop singer won the awards for video of the year, best pop video and best female video, all for the tune “Piece of Me”.

The debate is whether she is here to stay or it was just another spike in her cherished career, but whatever it was Britney truly swept the event.

The Jonas Brothers were pictured at New York City’s Yankee Stadium last weekend. It almost seems like they have no plans of leaving New York. The band of brothers got to talk some about the VMAs and while they couldn’t reveal just what song they’ll be performing, they did say that the song would be their new single. They also talked about their VMA nomination for Video of the Year. When asked who should win for the award other than themselves, Kevin quickly said “Chris Brown’s ‘Forever’… or Britney’s ‘Piece of Me’. She seems to be having a really great comeback and that’s awesome.”

Miley Cyrus may not be the best choice for anything right now but the 15-year old Hannah Montana star actually picked up her first VMA nomination for Best New Artist for ‘7 Things’. She’s up against her rumored rival, Katy Perry, with this summer’s massive hit ‘I Kissed a Girl’. Other nominees include American Idol champ Jordin Sparks with ‘No Air’, Taylor Swift with ‘Teardrops on My Guitar’ and Tokio Hotel with ‘Ready, Set, Go!’. To see who wins, watch the VMAs. The VMAs will air live from Paramount Studios in Los Angeles and one-time only in its original format on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at 9PM Live ET/Tape Delayed PT.

The President of the MTV Networks Music Awards, Van Toffler has expressed that there is likelihood that the pop-star Britney Spears will open the show again at 2008 MTV VMAs despite her catastrophic performance last year.

He said that Britney deserves a second and a third chance. He further added, “I’m not sure how we top Britney opening the show but we are looking on it every minute of every day”.

Britney’s chances to perform at the VMAs were given a boost when the title track of her most recent album “Piece of Me” has been nominated for the Video of the Year Award.

At the same time, the sources close to the superstar have revealed that she is also very nervous to perform on the occasion but is looking forward to perform in front of her fans again and prove herself.

Sources are saying that British comedian Russell Brand has been tapped to host this year’s MTV Video Music Awards which will air from Los Angeles in September. If you don’t know who he is, he’s actually a big name in the UK and has awards show hosting experience. Russell was actually the host at the Brit Awards two years ago. He’s also known for his crazy antics and being a self-proclaimed reformed horn dog. That should make the whole VMAs interesting this year. Sarah Silverman was pretty memorable for her bitchiness. I think Russell will be able to top that with his horniness.

Ever since she went crazy, Britney Spears’ record label has been mum. But not anymore.

MTV News was able to get an interview with label rep Allan Mayer. He says, “It’s not Jive’s place to fashion a public-relations campaign with respect to Britney’s personal issues, but Jive does care about her and does support her. We’re not pointing fingers — because the media and the paparazzi wouldn’t exist if there weren’t an appetite for it. But there’s no question that when you have someone at this level of celebrity, they become like cartoons or soap-opera characters, and we forget that they’re human beings. People say that’s the trade you make, that you have to give up your privacy or the ability to lead a normal life, but sometimes you make that bargain before you realize what it entails and it’s too late. Britney’s a grown woman, and she makes her own choices, and we respect that. But she’s been at a disadvantage [without a consistent team], and obviously that makes it harder to cope.”

Rumors went around that Britney Spears would supposedly premiere her new music video for ‘Gimme More’ on the Thursday edition of MTV’s ‘Total Request Live’. The video was said to be directed by the same guy that directed Beyonce and Shakira’s ‘Beautiful Liar’, Jake Nava. We’ll see.

However, an MTV representative went on the record with Extra! that Britney will not premiere any music video on the show. You see?

In other Britney news, her fifth album which is due out on November 13 is rumored to be titled ‘Pieces of Me’. Even more rumors?

Is Britney Spears getting ready to shock the world again? Is she going to appear on yet another awards show just a week after her 2007 MTV VMAs more famously known as the Sunday night massacre?

According to UsMagazine.com, she could be. They are reporting that FOX is in talks with the pop star’s peeps to book her for the Emmy’s. Thankfully, she won’t be performing but rather having her come on and apologize for the VMAs. A show source says that she’s weighing the offer.

Why would she need to apologize for her VMAs performance? We’re in major need of therapy for that traumatic experience but she’s the one without a career.

Now that he has been proved this chaps just going keep running his point over and over again till we damn kick his ass and tell him that it’s been six months since the VMAs have been over. He might have been right that Britney will prove to be a failure at the MTV awards but that doesn’t mean he is some kind of messiah knows what’s going to be the Britney Spears performance and other things too, then he would have known that Kanye West wasn’t going to win in any of the five categories. So we all know he is not a messiah. Britney tired to get it right but she couldn’t, she is just a human trying to get it right all over again, she might not succeed but at least she’s tired to success, you these morons who think she finished and a waste need to take a closer look at themselves at see if they have ever achieved even a fraction of the success that Britney has. Mr. Timbaland good for you that you’ve been able to get a prediction right, but the same could happen to you.

Shakira already knows how to put out a hit record – but now she’s tackling an even bigger subject: the history of western civilization. Isn’t this piece of news something so different from what we all have being listening, viewing, reading for so many days now. News of the MTV VMAs where singers just boozed, parties, broke relations, fought with each other, gave bad performances bla bla bla. With so much happening isn’t it so cool of Shakira to sit down and learn something that’s worthy of a mention. While everyone else has been at the beach, the MTV Awards and the Emmys, Shakira’s been studying History of Western Civilization all summer at UCLA. I think this is absolutely cool thing that she has enrolled herself into, instead of wasting time and energy of wasteful matter she’s decide that there is time for better things in life and she is utilizing that time for something good, babes you rock!

That’s the question everyone in the world including celebrities and fans are asking of Britney Spears, that couldn’t she manage to put one stage performance something that she is know to be strong at, just more time. You want the truth? The Honest truth? Pains pills and/or prescription medication. That’s likely what went wrong. Depression, Post Partum Depression, Pipolar Manic Depression. Britney Spears is almost assuredly mentally ill and her substance abuse is simply an attempt to cover it. She’s an emotionally unstable wreck, propped up on medication just to pay the bills of all the handlers/parasites/enamels that are leeching off of her to the tune of $700,000 a month. This is just like Anna Nicole. It really, really is. Much like Lindsay Lohan, Britney has to get into some fairly serious trouble with the law, without killing herself or someone else in the process. It’s really the only chance she has left. She’s severed ties with all the people who actually care about her and are only listening to her handlers, who continue, of course, to insist to her that nothing’s wrong. At least Lindsay still listens to her family. Britney won’t. This is sad. And tragic. Very tragic

Britney Spears spent her weekend in Las Vegas, where she has been rehearsing her performance for the MTV VMA’s on September 9th. According to sources, Britney spent all day Friday rehearsing and then that night she went and partied with P. Diddy at Pure nightclub. Hey, now that’s what I like, you work and like Britney rehearsed all day and then when work is done for the day you party hard as well to enjoy and celebrate the day’s work. That’s the culture I have been brought up on and that’s the way I think it should be. No work just partying all the time and killing life without doing anything meaningful and substantial is worthless fun. I’m really looking forward to the MTV VMA’s tomorrow. While I don’t really ever watch MTV and I dislike the majority of the type of people who will be there, I really want to see Britney’s performance.
