Miley Cyrus doesn’t seem to get why people think she’s mocking Asians in this picture but she apologizes, sort of. She recently posted her half ass apology where she claims that she was simply making “goofy faces” with her friends and “In NO way was I making fun of any ethnicity.” The Hannah Montana star then deflects responsibility even more by joking that the only reason that people are mad is because “… now that Britney is back on top of her game again, they need someone to pick on!” Oh please! People have been picking on you long before Britney was back on top.
Miley Cyrus and Justin Gaston apparently like to make music together. Pun is most definitely intended. According to Billy Ray Cyrus “I’ll tell you what – they are great friends, and they make a good team. They write a lot of songs together, and they sing – it’s incredible.” If being a good team means they get to make out with each other, then hey. Billy Ray adds “She loves what she’s doing. She has a real passion for making music as an artist. She loves being an actress, and we all feel very fortunate being in the Disney family and getting to do both of our loves.” Talk about a shameless plug for Disney.
Everyone knows how Miley Cyrus was bitter after she and Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers broke up. She even got more bitter when he started dating fellow Disney star Selena Gomez. But it looks like Miley is moving on as she was seen leaving Hannah Montana co-star Cody Linley’s place in Los Angeles late at night last week. The pair tried to avoid photographers and seemed to be enjoying their time together. No one’s sure if they’re dating or not though. But after such a publicized falling out with Nick, I guess even the slut deserves to be able to move on.
Miley Cyrus may not be the best choice for anything right now but the 15-year old Hannah Montana star actually picked up her first VMA nomination for Best New Artist for ‘7 Things’. She’s up against her rumored rival, Katy Perry, with this summer’s massive hit ‘I Kissed a Girl’. Other nominees include American Idol champ Jordin Sparks with ‘No Air’, Taylor Swift with ‘Teardrops on My Guitar’ and Tokio Hotel with ‘Ready, Set, Go!’. To see who wins, watch the VMAs. As much as her role fits her, Miley Cyrus wasn’t actually Disney’s first choice for the role of Hannah Montana. Singer and aspiring actress JoJo told TV’s Extra that the Mouse House approached her for the role but she turned it down. She said “Yeah, they [Disney] offered me the role…[But] it’s not really what I see for myself. No regrets. No regrets at all.” Who’s willing to call her on her bluff? I bet she’s having regrets. Hannah Montana would have made her huge! Instead, she’s doing Lifetime’s ‘True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet’ in which she plays a hard partying “it” girl who overdoses. Did anyone even know that her show existed?
Katy Perry joked in a recent interview that she was hoping to do her own version of the infamous Madonna lesbian kiss with none other than Miley Cyrus. While the rest of us just laughed at her humor, Miley just doesn’t get it. The skanky teen told E! “No thanks. She sang on my record. So I think she’s kind of getting back at me, because she was doing harmonies and backgrounds.” Too bad for her, Katy’s retort just made her look stupid. Katy said “6 weeks in a row at number one. And she recorded two of my old songs.”
Katy Perry rules the charts for the third week in a row as the singer’s monster hit is the #1 song in America by topping the Billboard Hot 100. It’s shaping up to be the song of the summer. Other notable chart movement for this week include Rihanna’s ‘Take a Bow’ moving from #4 to #2, Lil Wayne’s ‘Lollipop’ going from #2 to #3, and Miley Cyrus’ ‘7Things’ moving from #16 to #10, mostly due to digital downloads as the song isn’t getting much love on the radio. It looks like this summer is all good for the ladies. Katy better watch out as Rihanna looks like she’s hot on her heels.
The video for Miley Cyrus’ first single for her upcoming studio album ‘Breakout’ has just dropped. ‘7 Things’ was shot in Los Angeles last month with director Brett Ratner, the same guy who directed ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’ and ‘Red Dragon’. It features Miley and other heartbroken girls using the lyrics of the song to attack their respective exes. It looks like Miley has a vindictive side to her. It’s pretty obvious anyway – just look at what she and her family keep saying about the Vanity Fair scandal. The official premiere of the video took place Saturday night on the Disney Channel.
The cover art for Miley Cyrus sophomore album ‘Breakout’ has been revealed. The ‘Hannah Montana’ star’s new CD will be dropping in stores everywhere on Tuesday, July 22. The album’s first single, ‘7 Things’ debuted on Radio Disney earlier this month. So what do you think of the album cover? If you ask me, I think it’s still a little on the phallic side. But at least she’s not showing of her bare back and teasing people that she may have nothing on under a sheet. Seriously, the girl needs to start acting her age if she doesn’t want people thinking bad things about her.
Miley Cyrus has debuted her latest single ‘7 Things’ on Tuesday morning on the syndicated radio show Elvis Duran and the Morning Zoo. The single comes off Miley’s new album which will hit stores on July 22. The song describes the pain of a recent breakup by listing 7 things that she “hates” about her ex. “You’re vain, your games, you’re insecure/You love me, you like her/You make me laugh you make me cry.” She then sings about 7 things she likes. “Your hair, your eyes, your old Levi’s/And when we kiss, I’m hypnotized/You make me laugh, you make me cry.” I’m still not sure what to think of it. It sounds too much like it could be an Avril Lavigne song and I hate Avril!
Miley Cyrus and her dad Billy Ray are set to host the 2008 CMT Music Awards to be held on April 14 from Belmont University’s Curb Event Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Scheduled to perform on the awards night are Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Sugarland and Toby Keith. What – no ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ from Billy Ray?! Oh well, I’m sure Miley will find something for him to do as she whores it up in front of the cameras.
In other Miley news, Disney also announced that the ‘Hannah Montana’ movie will shoot in Tennessee and Los Angeles with a scheduled release date of May 1, 2009.
According to a report from CNN, a suicide plot to attack Miley Cyrus has been uncovered. Reports say that a teenager on board a Southwest Airline flight planned to take over the plane and fly it into a Lafayette, Louisiana building where a ‘Hannah Montana’ concert was to be performed. It’s unclear why he targeted Miley.
The teenager was caught with some handcuffs, duct tape and rope in the plane. The kid has since been placed under arrest and is being held and will face numerous charges. It’s unclear how authorities uncovered the plot but a spokesperson for Southwest airlines says that at no time was the flight ever in any danger.
Parents who shelled out hundreds of dollars for their girls to see Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus are in an uproar over a possible Miley/Hannah imposter.
According to concert goers, there is a point in the show where Hannah Montana is surrounded by her dancers and then covered with a black sheet. She then slips out a stage door and reenters through a different door. Thing is, it isn’t the real Hannah Montana that comes back.
Instead, according to OK! magazine, a body double comes in while Miley does a costume change. Many who paid high dollar for the concert are upset because they believe they were taken advantage of and treated like fools.
If only Mariah Carey wasn’t on vacation in Aspen. I’m sure she would have had a mental breakdown when she heard just how one of her songs got murdered. And by someone the whole country adores too!
Miley Cyrus did the worst cover of ‘All I Want for Christmas’ on Disney’s ABC parade special. It was just awful. I can’t believe she could do that to Mariah… and us! At the very least, the Jonas Brothers did a lovely performance of ‘Girl of My Dreams’. It was lipsynched though. But it was still better than practically killing off the Christmas spirit!
The Jonas Brothers have really hit the big time. The musical trio of brothers Kevin, Nick and Joe were seen attending the 2007 Jingle Ball pre-event at The Hammerstein Ballroom on Friday in New York City.
Another mark of their success is that they were recently announced to be performers during ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Even 2008’ along with Carrie Underwood and Miley Cyrus. They will have live performances from Times Square with the show airing on Monday, December 31 on ABC. What a hot way to rock in the New Year – an American Idol and two big names from Disney.
Parents everywhere are breathing a collective sigh of relief. Maybe Christmas isn’t ruined after all.
It has been announced that Miley Cyrus, a.k.a. Hannah Montana, is extending her extremely popular tour and adding 14 more shows. The shows begin January 11 in Detroit and go until January 31 in Miami.
Disney says it was an overwhelming response from fans that made them decide to add the additional shows. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the fact that it’s a huge revenue maker.
One downfall - the Jonas Brothers, who are touring with Miley, will not be on the added shows. Instead, Aly & AJ will join Miley from January 11 to January 24, with another “special guest” appearing for the remainder of the shows.
Hannah Montana’s Barbie girl Miley Cyrus turned 15 and the only thing her parents say she wished for was to celebrate her birthday on the stage, with her hometown fans.
Daddy opened her act with a guitar solo and from that point on the young star took the stage. 15,000 people congratulated her on her 15th birthday at the end of the act, singing in a choice a nice happy birthday. Miley seemed quite sincere when she told the crowd that she is living her dream both for her and for millions of young Americans out there that can get the big break she did. The innocent 15 year old wishes every kid could live her dream along with her.
