Former ‘Gossip Girl’ actress turned lead singer for a punk rock band Taylor Momsen performed at the launch for the Material Girl fashion line at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City this past Tuesday. I still think that she’s all sorts of wrong to be the face of this line. Material Girl is the new line from Madonna and her daughter Lourdes Leon. It was launched exclusively in Macy’s stores across the US and on Macys.com on Tuesday. The Queen of Pop and her daughter will also be making a special appearance at the same venue on September 22nd in support of their new line.

Madonna plans mega-fundraising concert for Malawi
26th July, 2010
Move over Live Aid – queen of pop Madonna has decided it’s her turn to organise the world’s biggest fundraiser.
The iconic star wants to raise cash for the impoverished nation of Malawi, where she has adopted two children from.
The 51-year-old already pumps cash into the region through her Raising Malawi Foundation, but now wants to hold a massive charity concert to boost donations, the Sunday Mirror revealed.
U2 frontman Bono is said to have been signed up to perform at the ‘Walk Out Of Poverty’ event, scheduled for September.
A source told the newspaper, “Plans are in place to make this the biggest fundraiser the world has ever seen. Madonna is throwing everything into it. She knows the bigger the event the more money will be raised.”
It is thought that 60,000 fans will be given free tickets to the stadium concert in Blantyre, Malawi.

Next Season on Glee
14th June, 2010Fans of ‘Glee’ have a long summer ahead without new episodes of the hit Fox series. To keep you alive during the break, here are some hints as to what will come next season. Ryan Murphy is promising new characters, epic music and a promising season finale. He said that there will be more musical tributes saying “The Madonna episode was so popular, I think I’m gonna do two tribute episodes — one in the fall and one in the spring — and we’re figuring out who those artists are.” YouTube sensation Susan Boyle might be appearing and the producers are looking to add new members to the club, including a boyfriend for gay character Kurt, a boyfriend for Mercedes and a Christian country singer who will act as a rival to Rachel. Ryan also said that the season finale is going to be Nationals in New York.
Christina Aguilera Fesses Up
28th May, 2010Christina Aguilera has spent the better part of the last couple of weeks denying that her video looks very familiar. The powerhouse singer finally admitted that she was copying a pop music icon – Madonna. In a tribute to the Queen of Pop, Christina made several deliberate references to Madonna in her ‘Not Myself Tonight’ video. She said “One of my favorite videos ever is ‘Express Yourself’ by Madonna which came across as really strong and empowering which I always try to incorporate through my expression of sexuality. I love the direct reference I made to Madonna with the eye glass moment and the smoke and stairs. I was paying tribute to a very strong woman who has paved the way before.” Now if she would just fess up to copying Lady Gaga, I’d be happy with her.
Madonna to Take Break from Music
10th May, 2010Madonna is reportedly going to take some time off from her music to focus on her family and the upcoming movie ‘W.E.’. The singer told Interview Magazine “I haven’t really been focused as much as I should be on the music part of my career, because the movie has consumed every inch of me. Between that and my four children, I don’t have the time or energy for anything else. It’s weird. I don’t have a record deal right now with anybody. I don’t know how I’m going to get my music out the next time I make a record.” She’s the Queen of Pop. I’m sure she’ll find a way.
Glee star does not want Britney Spears episode
7th May, 2010Glee’s Mathew Morrison has slammed the idea of featuring Britney Spears’ music in an episode of the hit show.
Last month a Madonna-themed instalment of the teen musical attracted 13.5 million viewers in the US.
Subsequently Spears’ manager Adam Leber circulated the idea that the show should similarly showcase the Toxic singer’s work.
Leber took to Twitter, posting the comment: “Do you guys want to see a Britney Spears episode of Glee?”
Attending the White House Correspondents Dinner this week, Morrison commented on the idea, saying: “That’s a rumour her manager started,” Us Magazine reports. “I hope our show doesn’t go along that route.”

Madonna is putting the music on hold
5th May, 2010Oh no! Whatever shall we do now that Madonna won’t be working on a new record? Well, probably go see her future movie since she’s decided to put all of her energy in that… and in her children. These seem to be the reasons for which Madonna will be taking a break from music. This is what she said on the matter: “I haven’t really been focused as much as I should be on the music part of my career, because the movie has consumed every inch of me. Between that and my four children, I don’t have the time or energy for anything else.” Oh well, if Madonna wants to turn into a movie queen, who’s to stop her? She’s probably just intimidated by all of the pop princesses vying for control of the hive these days… there’s no point in her getting involved in that war.
All Britney Glee
26th April, 2010Britney Spears’ manager Adam Leber is campaigning to get the pop star an all-Britney episode on the hit FOX series ‘Glee’. Adam went on his Twitter to ask “Do you guys want to see a Britney Spears episode of GLEE?” He then started a trending topic in favor of the singer’s music getting featured on ‘Glee’. I think it’s a great idea to have an all-Britney episode. They’ve done Madonna and they’re going to do Lady Gaga, so why not? Have all the pop royalties get an episode of their own! The Madonna episode was such a success that I’m sure that ‘Glee’ can do wonders for Britney too.
Christina Aguilera Comments on Lady Gaga Comparisons
23rd April, 2010Christina Aguilera has spoken out recently addressing the comparisons between the powerhouse singer and the princess of pop Lady Gaga. Christina said “It just comes with the territory. That, in particular, is not even worth wasting the breath to comment on. I’ve been around for over a decade and I think my work speaks for myself.” No, not really. Sometimes some people tend to go with the trend of what’s popular with the masses. And right now, Lady Gaga is what’s popular. And it’s not like Christina can pass as Madonna with the whole reinvention thing. It doesn’t work as well for anyone else but the Queen.
Madonna airs anguish over conditions in Malawi
6th April, 2010Madonna aired her anguish over Malawi, the small African nation ravaged by AIDS and the homeland of two of her children.
“As a mother, it pains me to see women having no access to potable water and good education,” she said on a visit to the Mchinji district. The pop star adopted David Banda from Malawi in 2006 and Mercy James in 2009.
Madonna took her two daughters Mercy James and Lourdes to the Millennium Village site where she was set to lay bricks for the girls’ school she started.
The school’s construction was held up while a dispute between Madonna’s charity Raising Malawi and 200 villagers played out. Villagers were reportedly each paid $500,000 in compensation by the charity.
But AFP reports the singer this time received a hero’s welcome. She asked friends and fans around the world to “join us in making the difference”.

Madonna Moves Back to London
25th March, 2010Madonna is said to be moving back to London and she’s going to bring the kids with her to the delight of her ex Guy Ritchie. A source said “The Big Apple hasn’t gone sour. M has just rediscovered her interest in Britain. She still owns her place in Marylebone and will be moving back there…She has surrounded herself in the history of the great Royal scandal and that has played a part in stoking her love of all things British once again. Guy is hoping the move will be permanent for his sake with the kids, though he isn’t holding out much hope. He is desperate to get the kids over here and be able to see them more often.”
Glee’s Madonna Album
23rd March, 2010There’s so much money to be made off of the fans of the hit TV series ‘Glee’ and everyone knows it. ‘Glee: The Music, The Power of Madonna’ CD has just gone on pre-sale with almost a month left until the all Madonna episode goes on the air. The CD won’t be available until April 20th but now you’ll know what amazing songs you can look forward to when the day arrives. The track list has 7 songs from the Queen of Pop – ‘Express Yourself’, ‘Borderline/Open Your Heart’, ‘Vogue’, ‘Like a Virgin’, ‘4 Minutes’, ‘What it Feels Like for a Girl’ and ‘Like a Prayer’.
Jesus Luz is a married man
15th March, 2010The Brazilian model who is slowly turning into a pop singer has recently admitted that ever since he’s been with Madonna he has felt like he is a married man with a family. This is what Jesus Luz said on the matter: “I consider myself a married man. I have a family. At my age, my father was also married. My mother gave birth to me when she was 15.” Yes, that really is the same thing, isn’t it? Madonna probably feels super-psyched that her boy toy thinks he’s the new father of her children now, even though they’re not really actually married. Oh well, at least Jesus Luz thinks he’s upholding the family tradition.
Jessica Simpson’s New Man
8th March, 2010Jessica Simpson was recently spotted with ‘The Hurt Locker’ star Jeremy Renner during a cocktail party at Guy Oseary’s house – he’s Madonna’s manager – and it’s been said that the failed country singer and the actor were getting very cozy. Jessica, who lives next door, stopped by the party and a source said that “Jeremy spent the night hitting on Jessica like crazy They were really flirting up a storm!” Jessica’s best friend Ken Paves encouraged the two of them and the two ended up exchanging phone numbers by the end of the night. I have to admit that they do make a hot pair.
Madonna and Jesus Luz flame burns out
3rd February, 2010Some sources have apparently been hinting at the fact that Madonna and Jesus Luz are no longer together. It seems that Jesus Luz himself blames the age difference and the lack of mutual interest, but Madonna has not yet said anything on the matter. The lack of mutual interest really must be a problem… after all, Madonna would be asking too much of Jesus Luz by expecting him to be as interested in A-Rod as much as she is. It truly seems like this situation of Madonna’s is irrecoverable. They’re just going to have to learn to go on without each other… tough, very tough.
Madonna’s Daughter is Dating
6th January, 2010Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon is blooming into a full blown teenager as the 13-year old has reportedly started dating. We don’t have to worry about her dating too early though as the Queen of Pop knows it’s harmless fun. An insider told reporters “Madonna is totally fine with it because she knows it’s not that serious at the moment.” The source said that the iconic singer even allowed Lourdes to take her boyfriend to the ‘Nine’ premiere in New York City last month. The boy’s name is Carlo and Lourdes is hoping to keep the media from attacking her guy pal. That’s kind of difficult considering who her mom is.

A source said to British newspaper News of the World: “They will always come together in religious matters for the kids. Guy arrived first and then Madonna followed him with Mercy, but they then left separately.”
Reports have claimed that the pair have been getting on better than ever in recent times.

Madonna thinking of third trip down aisle
29th September, 2009
Madonna may tie the knot with her Brazilian lover, Jesus Luz, who is 29 years her junior.
The revelation that the rock megastar is thinking of a third trip down the aisle comes from her
biographer, Randy Taraborrelli.
He claimed in an interview that Madonna, who has had Luz in constant tow on her world tour, is getting ever more serious about the much-younger hunk. Madonna, 51, has been married to Guy Ritchie – whom she divorced earlier this year – and Sean Penn. She has four children, two of whom are adopted from Malawi.
Madonna hooked up with Luz in January after meeting him on a photo shoot. In recent months, their relationship had been downplayed, with Madonna quoted as saying they were just friends. However, Luz appeared to be much more than a friend in recent spottings in Italy.
Taraborrelli quotes Madonna saying: “He’s so sweet. I could definitely see myself marrying him. It’s definitely on the table.”
Friends say Madonna would spare no expense on a wedding. The pop star and Ritchie had an elaborate celeb-studded wedding at Skibo Castle in the UK, where Madonna wore a Stella McCartney-designed bridal gown.
