Well here’s somebody who’s very determined about when they want to start their brake and when to finish it… at least in theory. It looks like Lily Allen will be disappearing from the music scene for a while, but as the proverbial words go: she will be back. This is what Lily Allen said on the matter: “I’m not making another album for a bit. Maybe in five years. It’s not retiring. I’m just doing a different job for a bit. I’m having a career change. I just want to stay in London for a while. It’s not a particularly healthy lifestyle being on the road.” This is all good and nice, but you cannot help asking yourself: what exactly is Lily Allen going to do? Find a little job at a pet store and scare all of the puppies? Maybe she can get into construction, surely her boyfriend will help her out there.

Katy Perry recently spoke to Glamour magazine about her relationship dos and don’ts. The singer said “Drugs are a huge, huge deal breaker. Substance abuse. Lack of ambition. I can’t deal when someone dillydallies through life. You’ve got to have drive – that’s so sexy. I don’t care if someone farts or picks his nose, because that’s going to happen in the long run.” I wonder if that’s how her fiancé, comedian Russell Brand, is with her. And I completely agree on the drugs part. I think only Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen could last with those types of things in their life.

Do you remember when Lily Allen went on a big tirade about how it was awful to download music illegally and got mad at legitimate artists like Radiohead for indulging their fans in file sharing? Guess what? The seemingly schizo singer has changed her mind. She now says that if you want to sell her music without permission, she doesn’t care. When asked about her stance on illegal file sharing, she said “If someone comes up with a burnt copy of my CD and offers it to you for £4, I haven’t a problem with that as long as the person buying it places some kind do of value on my music.” Once she realizes that she still isn’t going to get money from that, I’m sure we’ll hear another rant.

UK’s The Sun is going to pay train wreck singer Lily Allen £10,000 in damages for publishing an article with false statements that the tabloid claimed were made by the soon to be former singer. The Sun ran an article back in May saying that Lily called Victoria Beckham a monster and Cheryl Cole stupid and superficial. The comments were first published in a French sports magazine So Foot, where The Sun lifted them from and then published the story. A rep from The Sun says that “we now accept that Lily didn’t say these things to the magazine and we apologize to Lily for the upset and embarrassment caused by repeating them.” Lily is still pursuing legal action with So Foot.

Lily Allen recently blogged about how she’s against illegal file sharing and how it damages not only emerging artists but also British music as a whole. Well, apparently, the singer doesn’t know what the heck she’s talking about because Lily herself is part of the problem. Back when she was a nobody and trying to break into the music scene, Lily created her own mix tapes that included her music and other artists such as Jay-Z, Jefferson Airplane and The Kinks. Up until this past weekend, the mix tapes were still available on her www.LilyAllenMusic.com but have since been taken down.

When the gig is up for Lily Allen, the singer says that it’s off to suburban life for her and a boy. I pity the guy who decides to marry that train wreck. While performing at the V Festival, Lily admitted that she is already looking forward towards the end of her career, as she plans to retire at 25. She says “I just hope I can stay famous enough for a little bit so someone rich will marry me. I have every intention of becoming a suburban mum. I want to get married and have children…I’d like to live in the country and have a walled garden, and chickens and pigs.” If she does have kids, I foresee therapy in their future.

Lily Allen was the epitome of a train wreck as she cried her way through her performances in Finland last week. The singer had apparently had a bit of an accident the night before the concert and injured her back. Even though she was in pain, Lily still went on stage to perform. When she took the stage, she gave fair warning about what they were in for saying “I feel a bit emotional tonight and if I cry it’s not because of you but because of me.” Why does she sound like she’s breaking up with her fans? I think that’s actually better for everyone considering the show that they got from her.

Watch out everybody! Lily Allen is expected to come to the US and Canada for a brief tour in April. That is, if she doesn’t cancel like she did her last North American tour. Anyway, the British troublesome singer’s little run of dates will start on April 1 at the House of Blues in San Diego, California and will wrap up on April 22 at the Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She has a total of 15 dates to make. She will also hit Washington, Utah, Colorado, Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan, Georgia, DC, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New York. Lily Allen was recently interviewed for an article in the UK Telegraph where she tells the boring details in her life along with some pretty interesting thoughts. The singer was asked if there’s ever a point when she just starts to freak out because of the fame and the paparazzi following her. She said “Yeah. I do that all the time. And usually at that point I have a mental breakdown and check myself into some kind of hospital. It is what it is. I’m not complaining. I have a really nice life.” I wonder just how many times she’s checked herself in. She also talks about blaming the Daily Mail for inventing stories about her, drugs and not being a real musician.

The singer, who will be releasing her latest album “It’s not me, it’s you”, has recently stopped working with producer Mark Ronson. The reason she did this can be seen in her words: “I would definitely work with him again – I just didn’t want to do it this time because Mark has a really retro feel to what he is doing. I wanted to set myself away from Duffy, Adele and Amy Winehouse because they are so brilliant at what they do – it would be silly for me to follow them down that route.” I really, really, really hope Lily Allen is being sarcastic over here. Amy Winehouse is brilliant in what she does? Yeah, there’s probably nobody who can mess everything up with themselves as well as her. And she doesn’t want to go down the same path? Such modesty…

Since Lily Allen is allegedly sober, I guess we can categorize her latest rant as insecurity issues. On Monday, the outspoken British singer lashed out at American singing sensation Katy Perry during a radio interview. Lily spoke about Katy saying “I happen to know for a fact that she was an American version of me. She was signed by my label in America as, ‘We need to find something controversial and kooky like Lily Allen.’ And then they found her… I think the lyrics and stuff are a bit crass… When I met her I was bit frosty with her because someone asked her to describe herself. She’s like, ‘Aha, I’m like a fatter version of Amy Winehouse and a skinner version of Lily Allen!’. It’s like, you’re not English and you don’t write your own songs, shut up!” Newsflash Lily, Katy does write her own songs.

Well this is very typical of stars they haven’t yet found much success in a particular field as yet and they are trying to jump into someplace where they think there would be much more media attention and as we know they all love to hog the limelight.

Lily is currently tied up with the release of her 2nd album ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’ due out in February of 2009, but according to her friends, she has been trying to convince her actor father, Keith Allen, to help her chart a new career.

I mean fine her first album was a hit and she sings well to but come on lets not fall for a girlish look and look at her junk head ways, why is that they crave for so much attention. I could well see her following the footsteps of the likes of Britney Spears, Amy Winehouse and bla bla kind of girls.

If she has the desire to express her creativity then she should have at least 5 – 10 singles top of the UK & US charts. Prove yourself in one field beyond anyone’s doubt and if you don’t care of what your fans think then people such as you do anything it doesn’t matter one bit. Go lose it all!

The US officials granted UK pop tar Lily Allen an American work visa recently. The troubled singer’s permit was revoked by immigration officials last year when she was arrested for attacking a photographer. I guess the grant came right on time as she is planning to do an American tour in 2009 to promote her second album. Lily spoke of the happy news saying “I got my U.S. visa today, yay! It means I can go and tour there and finish what I started, which is something I’ve wanted to do for a while.” Somehow, I don’t think anybody really cares.

All hopes of Lily Allen making a splash with her upcoming album have gone down the drain. The other British pop wreck is set to record a duet with train wreck from the US Lindsay Lohan. Lily is working on finishing her second album but reports are saying that she still wants to add another song to it called ‘Wherever You Go’ and plans to record it with Lindsay. If Lily really wanted to further her career and make a big deal out of it, she should have just enlisted label mate and rumored rival Katy Perry to do the duet with her.

Duffy is tired of being compared with other female singers. The 23-year-old Welsh singer – real name Aimee Anne Duffy – has been compared with Dusty Springfield and hailed as the ‘new Amy Winehouse’ since releasing her breakthrough single ‘Mercy’ earlier this year, but wants to be recognized in her own right.

She said: “To be honest, if it’s not Leona Lewis, it’s Amy Winehouse. I’m being compared with Lily Allen or Dusty Springfield, bless her soul, she was an amazing woman. I just feel like one day I’ll be known as myself, but time will tell.”

The singer – who won Single of the Year for ‘Mercy’ at MOJO Honours List 2008 on Monday – also spoke about how far she had come.

She added: “This time last year I was eating fish and chips on a North Wales beach! This is my first big awards ceremony. No one cared about me then so I don’t know why they do now.”

Duffy remained tight-lipped over rumors she is set to record the theme song for the new James Bond movie, ‘Quantum of Solace’, teasingly saying: “A lady never exposes her secrets. You’ve got to leave this Welsh girl alone.”

Lily Allen recently blogged about the piece of news that she was jealous of Katy Perry, the singer who has since replaced Lily as Capitol Records’ golden girl. Sad to say, Lily was caught in a bunch of lies which were easily debunked. She said “And this is not meant in any way [to be mean] but I’d never heard of Katy Perry before I came here [to L.A.] a few days ago, I didn’t even know she was on Capitol.” Sources close to both singers says that they definitely know each other and have even met. Case in point, the picture for this rant of mine. Liar, liar pants on fire.

When it comes to the music industry, it’s hard to stay on top – you can just ask Lily Allen how that feels. Lily used to be Capitol Records’ golden girl but since she’s been slipping lately, she’s been replaced by Katy Perry. According to a music industry insider “Lily Allen is peeved at Capitol. She feels like they’ve shoved her aside to focus all their energies on their new girl of the moment, Katy Perry.” According to the source, the real insult came when the label “replaced a photo of Lily Allen with one of Katy Perry” in its office main lobby. The only thing that can save Lily from becoming washed-up goods is if she can come up with a great sophomore album. But from what I’m hearing, her new material sucks.

Songstress MIA recently had a sit down with Uptown magazine where she was asked about what she thought of British singers like Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen. What she had to say was funny, mean and the truth all at the same time. She said “The biggest thing coming out of England right now are singers like Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen. I think questioning the status quo for them is doing lines of cocaine in the toilet.” Honestly, I couldn’t have said it better myself. It’s like she took the words out of my mouth. MIA is now officially my hero.

Heartbroken pop star Lily Allen is undergoing treatment for depression at a top private clinic.

The tragic Smile singer, 22, sank into despair after a miscarriage. She also split with lover Ed Simons, who pals said Lily thought was “the one”.

She bravely tried to battle on but has now decided to seek help. The star is being treated at a residential clinic, but is allowed out to see pals and to film her chat show, Lily Allen and Friends.

A pal said last night: “The last couple of months have been really hard for Lily. She was so happy to be pregnant and was willing to give up her showbiz life to settle down and have a family. Her miscarriage was a huge blow and she hasn’t really recovered. She has tried to put on a brave face but she found she needed to get some professional help.”

Lily recently pulled out of performing at the Isle of Wight Festival in June and she is likely to delay the release date for her forthcoming album. But her troubles started in January with the miscarriage. Her relationship with Ed, 37, hit the rocks and they went on a $6,000-a-night holiday to the Maldives to try to make up, but it didn’t work and they split.

The pal added: “She really believed she and Ed were perfect together so she was devastated when they broke up. But she is responding well to treatment and is pleased that she is being allowed out to film her TV show and to keep in touch with the friends supporting her.”
