Lady Gaga in North American Tour

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Lady Gaga recently announced the dates for the 2010 North American Monster Ball Tour. Tickets for the princess of pop’s show will be going on sale on March 19th. In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, the singer said “It’s still called Monster Ball, but it’s more of a musical and less of a concert. It has a New York theme, it’s a story, and the story is that me and my friends are in New York and we’re going to the Monster Ball, and we get lost.” The tour will kick off with a June 28th concert in Montreal and will wrap up on September 19th in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Lady Gaga Talks New Video

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

Lady Gaga finally released the music video extravaganza that is ‘Telephone’ last week and I am amazed with her ability to infuse social commentary into her high concept clips. The pop singer talked about the video’s concept and how she got Quentin Tarantino’s approval, saying “There certainly is a Tarantino-inspired quality in the video. I mostly love the way he uses different forms to create something new. His direct involvement in the video came from him lending me the Pussy Wagon. We were having lunch one day in Los Angeles and I was telling him about my concept for the video and he loved it so much he said, ‘You gotta use the Pussy Wagon.’”

Lady Gaga in 3D

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

Lady Gaga is busy taking over the world with her Monster Ball Tour and putting the finishing touches on her music video for ‘Telephone’ with Beyonce but a rep at her label has revealed that there are talks about a 3D concert and DVD in the near future for the princess of pop. Is this what the singer has been prepping her fans for when the deluxe edition of her album ‘The Fame Monster’ included a pair of 3D glasses? That’s the only other reason that I can think of and I am utterly excited about this piece of news. I can already imagine the crazy stuff that she’s going to pull off.

Lady Gaga Gets Another Number 1

Monday, March 8th, 2010

I’m no longer surprised at this type of news and most people don’t even regard this as newsworthy anymore but oh well. Lady Gaga’s latest single ‘Telephone’ has gone to the top spot on the pop radio chart in the United States. For those of you who are keeping count, that’s the singer’s sixth number 1 single in a row! Amazing! Give it up for the princess of pop! Congratulations Lady Gaga! I wonder if she can make it seven in a row once she releases another single. I’m pretty sure she will. It’s not even a question anymore really.

Lady GaGa treats her staff to fish and chips

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. It seems these words really stuck with Lady GaGa while she was in Cardiff, Wales where she treated all of her crew to the traditional Enlgish dish of fish and chips. The manager of the place they bought the food from related the following about Lady GaGa’s menu choice: “I had a call from her manager saying all the crew wanted to experience our fish and chips. A runner turned up in a van, handed over $210 and took the meals away. They said they’d asked someone local about where to get the best fish and chips in town. I don’t know what they made of the mushy peas, as they’re all Americans.” It certainly does look like Lady GaGa never shies away from being very close with her crew… it’s good to see she hasn’t turned into a diva, at least for the time being.

Lady Gaga Tops Charts

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Lady Gaga’s latest single ‘Telephone’ just hit the coveted top spot on the Billboard Hot Dance/Club Play chart this week. That makes it the princess of pop’s fifth consecutive number one. Even if you’re not a fan of the singer it would be tough to say that you aren’t amazed. Lady Gaga’s talent is undeniable and we are constantly reminded by all of her awards, chart-topping and record-breaking hits. There is absolutely no stopping Lady Gaga! I’d be surprised if there are still a big percentage of music lovers who haven’t become fans of her yet. I love Lady Gaga and everyone else should too.

Lady Gaga’s New Tattoo

Friday, February 5th, 2010

How do you measure an artist’s dedication to her fans? If you ask Lady Gaga, dedication is when you get a new tattoo dedicated to all your fans. And that’s exactly what the new princess of pop did. The singer recently posted a picture of her new tattoo on Twitter. She wrote “look what i did last night. little monsters forever, on the arm that holds my mic. xx” The tattoo is a script on the inside of her wrist that says ‘Little Monsters’, which is what she affectionately calls her fans. I think I just heard her fans say a collective “aww”.

Lady Gaga Explains New Song

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

A lot of people speculate about what Lady Gaga’s lyrics mean in a lot of her songs. In a recent interview, the pop singer did us all a favor and revealed the meaning behind her song ‘Dance in the Dark’. She explains “The record is about a girl who likes to have sex with the lights off, because she’s embarrassed about her body. She doesn’t want her man to see her naked. She will be free, and she will let her inner animal out, but only when the lights are out. She doesn’t feel free without the moon. These lyrics are a way for me to talk about how I believe women and some men feel innately insecure about themselves all the time. It’s not sometimes, it’s not in adolescence, it’s always. [T]he song isn’t called ‘Dance in the Light. I’m not a gospel singer trying to cross people over. What I’m saying is, ‘I get it. I feel you, I feel the same way, and it’s OK.’”

Allison Iraheta Bombs

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

Allison Iraheta, who placed fourth in the last season of American Idol, might want to start checking out a couple of colleges and other venues of life because the music business might not be for her after all. According to reports, the singer’s debut album ‘Just Like You’ brought in piss poor numbers, only managing to sell about 25,000 to 30,000 in its first week of sales. It was totally expected but it’s a burn nonetheless. They can chalk it up to being up against heavy hitters like Lady Gaga, Susan Boyle and fellow Idol alum Adam Lambert but then again, if you can’t handle the competition, that usually means that you aren’t any.

Lady GaGa’s favorite accessory

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

While being handed a Stylemaker award at the 13th annual Accessories Exchange Council, Lady GaGa took the opportunity of the moment to transmit a subtle message for all fashion lovers out there: “I think we must all remember that the ultimate accessory is the condom.” She might have thought she was promoting safe sex… but calling a condom an accessory, doesn’t really relay its importance too much. Lady GaGa might just have “inspired” some “artists” to start making condom-themed clothing. But hey, all for the betterment of the world, eh? This must fit in nicely with Lady GaGa’s plan of turning art into sex.

Adam Lambert’s Track List and Collaborators

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

The track list for Adam Lambert’s debut album ‘For Your Entertainment’ has been released and it has all the makings of a hit considering who the American Idol runner up has collaborated with. The singer collaborates with the likes of Max Martin, Pink, Kara DioGuardi, Lady Gaga, Linda Perry, Ryan Tedder and a slew of other great writers and producers. The track list of the album goes ‘Music Again’, ‘For Your Entertainment’, ‘Whataya Want from Me’, ‘Strut’, ‘Soaked’, ‘Sure Fire Winners’, ‘A Loaded Smile’, ‘If I Had You’, ‘Fever’, ‘Sleepwalker’, ‘Aftermath’, ‘Broken Open’ and ‘Time for Miracles’. I can’t wait to hear it all!

Shakira Gets Sabotaged

Monday, October 26th, 2009

Shakira’s new album ‘She Wolf’ has already been pushed back more than once and now her label has just announced that it will be released on November 23rd and will contain her newest Timbaland-produced single called ‘Give it Up to Me’, featuring rapper Lil Wayne. That’s such a bad move as the Latina singer will now be going up against Lady Gaga’s ‘Fame Monster’, Rihanna’s ‘Rated R’, Adam Lambert’s ‘For Your Entertainment’ and Britney Spears’ ‘The Singles Collection’. Shakira certainly won’t take the top spot up against all of that strong competition. What was her label thinking? This really smells like sabotage to me.
