While at his sold out concert at Madison Square Garden last week, John Mayer took time out from his set to thank his audience for their support. The soft rock singer said “I hate to come off like an a–hole ever, and thank you guys for believing that I am not an a–hole. Never, ever in my entire life did I ever think that it would be a good idea to be an a–hole. But you know what? There’s plenty of a–holes who think the same thing, so I have to thank you. It’s a clean me now, people, clean me.” Even the apology sounds like it came straight from a douche bag.

It looks like the Holy Ghost or some other type of supernatural manifestation has moved John Mayer because he recently declared that from now on he wants to be a good boy. This is what John Mayer told his fans at a recent concert: “I hate to come off like an asshole ever, and thank you guys for believing that I am not an asshole. Never, ever in my entire life did I ever think that it would be a good idea to be an asshole. But you know what? There’s plenty of assholes who think the same thing, so I have to thank you. It’s a clean me now, people, clean me.” That’s probably going to hold until his weed provider gets out of rehab… then the spirits that have been inspiring John Mayer up until now will come to life once more.

Jessica Simpson is on the cover of the March 2010 issue of Allure magazine where the singer opens up about love, her weight and claims that she has learned nothing from her past relationships. She talked about John Mayer’s influence saying “He didn’t make me go brunette. John doesn’t get credit for making me brunette. He’d like to think so, but he doesn’t deserve the credit.” She also talked about Tony Romo saying “I talked to Tony today. I’m still a fan [of the Dallas Cowboys]. I’m a huge fan. I wear my gear, and I cheer Tony on.” She also talked about other issues and how she wants her privacy. Oh please, for someone who suffers from a lot of issues, she still chooses in the limelight.

John Mayer has taken to his Twitter yet again to talk about how sorry he is for that interview gone wrong that he did for Playboy magazine and how he’s planning on keeping his mouth shut from now on. The singer tweeted “And while I’m using today for looking at myself under harsh light, I think it’s time to stop trying to be so raw in interviews…It started as an attempt to not let the waves of criticism get to me, but it’s gotten out of hand and I’ve created somewhat of a monster. I wanted to be a blues guitar player. And a singer. And a songwriter. Not a shock jock. I don’t have the stomach for it. Again, because I don’t want anyone to think I’m equivocating: I should have never said the word and I will never say it again.” Does this mean the end of his interviews and tweets too?

John Mayer was on the Tuesday episode of Ellen DeGeneres. The 32-year old singer sat down with the famous comedian and admitted that he’s had a crazy dating life so far and that the idea of dating is freaking him out right now. John said “I don’t know if you know this, but I have sort of a funny track record. Which is actually not that strange, given my age. I’m a little freaked out right now about it, to be honest. I have a good heart. I think I may have gotten lost a couple of times, but so does everybody. I’m just going to hunker down. 2010 is a peaceful year for me, no matter what I do.”

Reports are saying that John Mayer and Kristin Cavallari from ‘The Hills’ have been hooking up secretly for quite some time. The pair has allegedly been sneaking off to a mutual friend’s house in the Mt. Olympus area of the Hollywood Hills to get their freak on for two years. A source close to the reality star says that she has been hesitant to start anything serious with the singer “because she didn’t want to be added to his long list of conquests, and they were both dating other people off and on.” It’s also being said that since their secret affair has come out, they are starting to consider seriously going public.

Michael Jackson’s memorial turned up some all star names. Apart from the actual attendees, some special mention can be given to those who spoke out and performed in honor of the late King of Pop. Those participants, include Ron Boyd (family friend); Kobe Bryant; Mariah Carey; Andrae Crouch Choir; Berry Gordy; Jennifer Hudson; Shaheen Jafargholi (finalist on Britain’s Got Talent); Magic Johnson; Martin Luther King III; Bernice A. King; John Mayer; Lionel Richie; Smokey Robinson; Rev. Al Sharpton; Brooke Shields; Pastor Lucious Smith (family friend); Usher; and Stevie Wonder. The memorial of the iconic singer was broadcasted on five major TV networks.

While some people aren’t too happy about Kris Allen winning American Idol over Adam Lambert, experts say that the fans may have gotten it right. If you compare the singing styles of the final two, Kris is clearly a more marketable singer. It’s easier to make a great record out of R&B with a touch of John Mayer and Jason Mraz than an album of rock and roll with a touch of theater. And did you know that with the addition of Kris Allen in the set of winners of American Idol, three quarters of the winners are from the south?

It’s not your average pairing… but Usher wants to work with Michael Buble.

The R’n’B star is desperate to team up with the Canadian jazz artist on his new album ‘Here I Stand’ and has even written a song for them to perform together.

He said: ‘I would love to perform my track ‘Forever Young’ with Michael Buble. I actually wrote that song with the intention of him and me doing it together.’

The ‘Love in This Club’ singer is also keen to collaborate with US singer-songwriter John Mayer.

Usher added: ‘I would like to do something with John Mayer on one of my songs ‘Something Special’ which is on my new album. I would love him to play the guitar and sing with me on that.’

The 29-year-old star, who has recorded a track with Ne-Yo for his new LP, insists he is happy his 18-year-old chart rival Chris Brown has enjoyed such success.

Usher explained: ‘All of this new energy is great for the industry. Chris is the guy who dances and sings, which is a lot like I do and did as a young artist. If time serves us correctly, and artists continue to better themselves, then hopefully he will follow the same path that I did.’

‘Here I stand’, which is Usher’s fifth studio album, is scheduled to be released worldwide on May 27.
