Leighton Meester’s Music Career on Hold

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

Although her music career never really took off to begin with, actress turned singer Leighton Meester will be putting her music on the backburner while shooting the indie film ‘The Oranges’ which starts production in NYC in April. The movie, which also stars Hugh Laurie and Catherine Keener, centers around a man’s romantic relationship with the daughter of a family friend. By the time she decides to really start up her music career, everyone would have already forgotten that she’s actually a singer. I’m disappointed really. While I haven’t really gotten that much into what she’s put out, I actually had high hopes for her.

Michael Buble Still on Top

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

Michael Buble is ruling the charts! First, the singer ran over KISS. Now, he rules over the ‘New Moon’ soundtrack. Michael’s ‘Crazy Love’ is still number 1 on the Billboard charts for the second week in a row, snatching the top spot from the soundtrack for the ‘Twilight’ sequel. Michael sold an amazing 203,000 records this past week while the ‘New Moon’ soundtrack only managed to sell 115,000 copies despite the huge hype. Could that mean that ‘Twilight’ is losing its steam? Or was the album just too riddled with indie acts that not many teenyboppers care about? But anyway – congratulations Michael!
