Singer Cheryl Cole is set to bring out a new clothing line.

The 26-year-old Girls Aloud star is going to release her own fashion label selling clothing and accessories.

A source told British newspaper The London Evening Standard: “With her new hair and edgier clothes choices, Cheryl has told work colleagues that she wants to capitalise on her ‘best dressed’ status and is exploring the possibilities of launching her own fashion label next year.”

The X Factor judge is keen to bring out a casual wear range as well as a handbag collection.

The source added: “Cheryl wants to pounce while she’s on top. She spent a great deal of time in LA and thinks her style can translate wonderfully across continents. But everything is in the early stages. Cheryl loves fashion.”

Earlier this year, Cheryl reportedly said that 35-year-old singer Victoria Beckham’s clothing line was not something Girls Aloud would wear as it was for “older women”.

X marks the spot for fashion faux pas by Cheryl and Dannii

Monday, July 13th, 2009

The X-Factor judges Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue made a fashion faux pas after turning up to auditions in the same pair of shoes.

The singers arrived in Glasgow wearing matching YSL Tribute pumps, according to reports.

The shoes, which cost £490, sport six-inch heels and are worn by stars like Victoria Beckham and Jennifer Lopez.

Fellow judge Simon Cowell has previously compared the duo to peacocks.

Talking about his decision to hold all the auditions in front of a live audience, he said: “The girls, I think, are going to love it because they are like peacocks those two – they want to be on show.”

The last series was shrouded in rumours of a rift between the girls, with claims that Minogue felt Cole was getting more screen time.

More Madonna for Louis Vuitton

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Madonna has once again been asked to participate in yet another campaign for French fashion house Louis Vuitton. The Queen of Pop will be joining photographer Steven Meisel for the shoot. He’s the same guy who shot Madonna’s amazing contribution to Louis Vuitton’s Spring-Summer 2009 campaign. I’m sure it will be another amazing campaign considering the team that they have. I can’t wait to see it. LV should just make Madonna their official spokesperson already. I doubt they got her again just for fun. She does an amazing job for them. And I bet she gets a lot of cool freebies too.

Kanye West changed his name

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

This one is a clear example that not all change is for the better. The rapper or former rapper and future fashion designer, Kanye West, has changed his name to “Martin ‘Louis’ the King Jr.” In a video statement on his blog, Kanye West said: “Due to what has happened – what has happened so severely when the red shoes hit the runway, I was forced to change my name to Martin Louis the King Jr. Address me as such.” The change is apparently due to the launch of his new footwear range for Louis Vuitton. I really like the end part with “address me as such”.

Madonna is Hot for Louis Vuitton

Friday, December 12th, 2008

Louis Vuitton’s latest advertisement campaign has been revealed and it features none other than the Queen of Pop, Madonna. And wouldn’t you know it? The Material Girl was looking fierce for the ads! Vuitton designer and creative director Marc Jacobs said that they went with Madonna after he just blurted out about wanting Madonna at a meeting. He had supposedly been inspire by her concert and was totally blown away by her. The photos for the ads were shot by Steven Meisel instead of the rumored Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot. The photos feature the classic Parisian aesthetic of Jacobs’ spring LV collections.

Sheryl Crow’s Denim Line

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

sheryl-crow.jpg
Sheryl Crow has gone into the fashion business as she has recently launched Bootheel Trading Co., her new line of jeans, denim jackets and tops. The 46-year old singer says “I’ve spent years collecting some of the most amazing pieces and never thought I would be able to bring the spirit of this vintage, laid-back fashion to life with comparable quality at a price with every woman in mind.” Retail price point for the collection will be anywhere in between $65 to $68 for jeans. Well that’s not much of a range. Oh well, the prices seem reasonable enough. It’s fine I guess.

Kanye’s Dressing Up

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008

kanye-west.jpg

I hear Amy Winehouse is in the market for a new wardrobe designer. Ha! I’m guessing Kanye’s not lining up for the job.

Kanye is, however, hooking up with Louis Vuitton to create a new line of shoes for men and women. Looking at Kanye’s style, I’m betting those will be some hot shoes. He’s also working with Takashi Murakami, a lead artist.

Also in November, Kanye is set to launch a clothing line to go with the jewelry line he already has.

He’s stylin’ and profilin’!

Rihanna’s Fashion Disaster #2

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

rihanna1.jpg

As if she hasn’t had enough fashion issues lately….girl should’ve never cut her hair, I guess.

Rihanna showed up at the BET Awards dressed in some mess of a Big Bird costume (God rest his soul!).

Seems like she can’t get anything right these days. First nipple rings, now this….Rihanna, honey, take my advice. Hire a stylist other than yo cuzin Shaniqua.

Avril Smells Nice

Monday, June 9th, 2008

avril-lavigne-fragrance.jpg

At least we hope she does. If not, she has no business hocking a new fragrance.

She has inked a deal with Proctor and Gamble Prestige Products to create her own perfume. She’s, umm, following in the footsteps of fellow divas Britney and Christina. Maybe she’ll be luckier and hers will actually sell.

The plan is to aim the product at her teenage fans. She said the fragrance should hit the market in 2009.

Rumor has it, it will smell of teenage angst.

Mary J. Blige obsessed with shoes

Monday, April 7th, 2008

mary-j-blige.jpg

Mary J. Blige owns over 1,000 pairs of shoes.

The ‘Just Fine’ singer is so obsessed with designer footwear that she has a whole closet devoted to storing her purchases.

She said: “My biggest fashion weakness is definitely shoes. My favourites are some Chloe wedges. I have around 1,000 pairs.”

I envy her….as I am sure most warm-blooded females will!

Mary is planning to channel her love of fashion into her own clothing range, which will focus on denim. She added to: “I’d really love to do that. I want to start with a great pair of jeans that fit nicely and are made from a good-quality material. I’m also working on a perfume. I’m always checking out new scents for ideas.”

However, the 37-year-old singer has no intention of trying to compete in the fashion stakes with her younger pop rivals.

She said: “I’m learning about fashion, but a lot of people do like my style. I don’t have to compete though – I don’t even want to compete. I’m not trying to outdo Rihanna or Beyonce.”

Would you PAY to look like Amy Winehouse?

Would you PAY to look like Amy Winehouse?

Trampy Amy Winehouse is launching her own brand of clothes and make-up so fans can copy her unique style. The news emerged yesterday as Amy, 24, modelled the look — including a leopard-print scarf atop her matted barnet and cig stuck to her lip.

The range will include hairspray, but the signature piece is set to be the heavy liquid eyeliner the Rehab singer has made famous. She has a meeting scheduled for later this week to discuss the project with fashion and cosmetics experts.

A pal revealed yesterday: “Amy’s style has been copied by girls around the country and there’s a lot of money to be made. It’s a very distinctive look. She wants to bring out a range of cosmetics and fashion products. There could be hairspray, head scarves, liquid eyeliner, perfume. All the things that are distinctive of her look.”

A fashion industry source added: “I think this stuff would sell very well in London. She has become a fashion icon despite not always looking too fresh.”

Justin Timberlake: Model

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

Justin Timberlake:

Justin Timberlake is a singer, songwriter, producer and actor. Now, he can add model to his ever-growing resume as he is the new face of Givenchy’s latest men’s fragrance. The President and CEO of Parfums Givenchy Alain Lorenzo says that “Beyond his huge celebrity appeal, we have chosen Justin Timberlake because he is a world recognized trendsetter who redefines modern elegance.” People is reporting that the new Givenchy campaign featuring the very talented Mr. JT will be unveiled in June of this year. I say someone needs to focus more on music and dancing. It’s what he does best. Acting and modeling – leave that to the pros.

Jean Paul suits Kylie Minogue

Friday, February 15th, 2008

Kylie Minogue has asked Jean Paul Gaultier to design the outfits for her upcoming tour.

The renowned French designer has already met with the ‘2 Hearts’ singer, who kicks off her European tour ‘KylieX2008′ in Paris on May 6, to show her his “sophisticated” vision for her stage wardrobe.

Victoria Turns Spicy

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

In a sneak peek at their highly anticipated world tour that will kick off on December 2 in Vancouver, the members of the biggest British girl group to ever come out in the 1990s almost stole the show from feathered and jiggly-bodied models on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show held on Thursday.

The Spice Girls reunited and performed for the first time in almost 10 years. They performed one of their classic singles ‘Stop’ decked out in 1950s-style military outfits complete with male backup dancers. After a change of clothes and decades, the girls came out to perform their latest single ‘Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)’ decked out in 1930s evening gowns.

Too bad they lipsynched the whole time.

Spice Girls are In with the Times

Friday, October 19th, 2007

With record stores going on respirators with the falling record sales, it shouldn’t be a wonder why a lot of artists are going digital with their releases. And it doesn’t apply to just the new artists. Take the Spice Girls as an example.

The 90s super girl group recently announced that their new Greatest Hits album wouldn’t be sold in traditional retail outlets. Their new record will only be available at online retailers, like iTunes, and Victoria’s Secret stores. Ladies, don’t forget to buy some lingerie while you’re at it.

Maybe they’re getting money from the store too just like a lot of artists being sponsored by retail brands.

Sheryl Crow: From Rocker to Designer

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

sheryl_crow-photo.jpg

Rocker Sheryl Crow is the latest singer to jump on the celebrity designer bandwagon. Crow is teaming up with Canadian clothing manufacturer Western Glove Works to launch a low budget denim line. Yeah that’s the only thing these failed rockers and artist are left to do, one they have nothing creative left in them they think that the only thing they can best do is create a flop fashion line with some fashion house and dump it in the market with their name on the tag. Since I truly do not believe that any celebrity actually designs their own clothes…I’m going to say designer. Because usually the celeb crap is well, crap. I can give up one example that comes to mind immediately is that of Victoria Beckham, she had a successful career with the Spice Girls, once the band broke up she needed to do something creative and what’s more creative than get herself a fashion line and since then she has been selling some rags with a high price tag, Sheryl think she can do the same.

Lily Allen at Chanel

Monday, October 8th, 2007

Girls are known to be shopping freaks, once they have the money in their hands they just keep going on until they are finished with it. That was in the past and things haven’t changed at all, things have got even worse. Girls with the name and the money still shop till they drop but they more often then not do not have any money in their wallet most of the times. Lilly Allen too belong to the later category of girls who might have the money but either forget to carry it or take it for granted that high end market stores would recognize them and let them leave telling them that they could send the money with someone for the bill to be paid. Lilly at times has reportedly taken her credit card that has been rejected for insufficient funds or overuse has blocked the card or nonpayment of previous bills. Well I hope that they consider themselves worthy of a few thousand dollars and the next time she visits a place of credit she knows whether she is window shopping or actually out to buy some stuff.

Mariah in Great Shape

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

Mariah Carey is in the best shape she has been in for a long while and she is now free to fire whoever retouches her pictures and be on the cover of a magazine in a bikini.

Mariah arrived at the tenth anniversary gala for VH1’s Save the Music on Thursday night in New York City. She stepped out to the red carpet on the arm of music mogul LA Reid, to the sound of screaming fans, louder than for anyone else who arrived that night.

Mariah was there not only to show off her slamming body but also to be given an award for her philanthropic work.

Courtney Love Thinks Her Perfume Would Stink

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

courtney-love-fun.jpg
Rocker Courtney Love wants to launch her own perfume – but is worried nobody wants to smell like her. The former Hole front woman also thinks her hell raising reputation might hinder chances of selling a fragrance. She is so right about herself on this thing, she stinks, her music stinks, her hairs stink and so would her perfume if it were ever launched. And if someday the perfume is evolved and hits the market then she shall be the only one going to the stores housing her perfume to buy it. She will take the cab every day and buy the perfume until the last bottle is purchased off the rack and then ask the makers to please stop making it because it is so expensive and gives such a bad smell that she wouldn’t like to use it herself. She will also have to go to a discount mart and ask the vendors to please purchase the bottles that she purchased from the stores and a cheap discount coz she has no idea what to do them those unused bottles. So Courtney if you want to avoid such embarrassment just forget about your own perfume fragrance.
