The world better brace itself because we’re going to be hit by a diva hurricane as Mariah Carey is going on tour. The singer has just announced the big news on the JohnJay & Rich morning radio show on Wednesday. The tour is still in the planning stages though so don’t expect to see her this summer. The earliest we can see her is later this year. And if you add in the diva factor, the tour may not happen until next year. By then, people would have lost interest and there wcouldn’t have been a point anyway. She should have planned the tour right when she released her album.

Another so-called Hollywood pair have made the divorce list as Shania Twain and her husband, producer Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange, have called it quits. The now ex-couple released a statement through their spokesperson Jason Owen on Thursday saying “Shania Twain and her husband, music producer Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange, are separating after 14 years of marriage. This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time.” 14 years is a long time to just throw away. I wonder why the split – adultery, jealousy, constant fighting? It’s highly likely that their divorce papers will just say ‘irreconcilable differences’.

Mariah Carey is used to all things fancy so it should come as no surprise that even a trip to the tacky Magic Mountain is still going to get touches of her diva personality. An inside source has revealed some details that went down at the diva’s wedding party, namely when it came to the bathrooms. Mariah had her own private potty to piss in with guards right outside the bathroom. If the diva has to be comfy, the guests have to be too. The boys’ room had tissues, a cup full of gum and even a candle while the ladies’ room had pink mats, gum, Listerine and a basket full of hairspray. The newlyweds were also said to be driven around the theme park in a gold cart with Mariah being followed by a hairstylist and makeup artist.

The ‘Just Fine’ singer is so obsessed with designer footwear that she has a whole closet devoted to storing her purchases.

She said: “My biggest fashion weakness is definitely shoes. My favourites are some Chloe wedges. I have around 1,000 pairs.”

Mary is planning to channel her love of fashion into her own clothing range, which will focus on denim. She added to: “I’d really love to do that. I want to start with a great pair of jeans that fit nicely and are made from a good-quality material. I’m also working on a perfume. I’m always checking out new scents for ideas.”

However, the 37-year-old singer has no intention of trying to compete in the fashion stakes with her younger pop rivals.

She said: “I’m learning about fashion, but a lot of people do like my style. I don’t have to compete though - I don’t even want to compete. I’m not trying to outdo Rihanna or Beyonce.”

Mariah’s been on 1, maybe 2, magazine covers and was obviously photoshopped. Madonna’s been in 4 now and she’s fiercer than ever. While Madonna has her own Sunsilk ad, Mariah has to share the spotlight with the likes of Martha Stewart, Carlos Santana and Gabriel Aubry. The 38-year old curvaceous diva will debut in a spot for Macy’s next week. And like I’ve said before, she needs a new stylist. It’s no wonder why she’s losing to Madonna on this one.

According to the head of her label Clive Davis, the diva’s first album of original material since 2002 will be out by the holidays this year. He says that 4 songs have already been completed for the as yet untitled album and 4 more will be put to tape later this month. Songs for the album have been produced or written by the likes of will.i.am, Sean Garrett and Akon who says “The voice is there; I don’t think anyone could ever take that from her. As long as we apply that voice to hit records, she’ll be right back where she left off.”

After so many fashion mishaps in the past year, I almost didn’t believe my eyes when I caught site of Jennifer Hudson. Can you talk about diva? But apart from all her fashion mistakes, you can’t deny that it has been her year. The American Idol alum won several awards for her role in ‘Dreamgirls’ and she also got to ring in 2008 at the Setai Hotel in Miami Beach.

2008 promised to be just as good for the diva that is Miss Hudson. The entertainer is reportedly returning to her roots of singing by releasing her debut album. Wow! She’s already so accomplished yet she’s just now releasing an album. 2007 was definitely great for her!
