Taylor Momsen on Tour

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Who knew that ‘Gossip Girl’ star Taylor Momsen actually has a band? The pretty blonde starlet is a member of the band called the Pretty Reckless and they are going to be hitting the road with The Veronicas. They will be making their way around Florida, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio. I wonder if Taylor’s band is any good. I like this girl and I’m hoping that she’s not among those wannabe actresses who just think they can sing or rock or whatever. Paging Scarlett Johansson. Stay tuned for info on Pretty Reckless and what the jury will think on whether they’re worth a listen or not.

Britney Spears’ tour pressure

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

The singer’s family is concerned that her new “Circus” tour is too much for her. A source said this about Britney Spear’s family concerns: “Her family is worried this might be too much pressure for her. Is it too soon? It wasn’t that long ago that she was falling apart and now the pressure is on and it’s a lot.” However, Britney Spears’ aunt made a contrasting statement: “I am so excited for her, and I wish I could be there. All the family is there and supporting her. I’m sure that she is going to be just fine. I think it is going to be something really special.” Well, we can very well dismiss the aunt as being entirely subjective, but what about Britney Spears’ father? What does he think? But he probably doesn’t have time to tell us what he thinks since he’s too busy pulling all of the strings.

Kelly Clarkson Package

Friday, February 6th, 2009

Kelly Clarkson may have the number one song in the country but tickets to her concert are being knocked down by 50% and all you have to do to get them is to fly to the Bahamas and pay for four nights of hotel accommodations. Even resort hotels like the Atlantis are feeling the effects of the economic crisis so they’re trying to lure vacationers by slashing prices to the original American Idol’s February 14th concert. If they really wanted you to vacation there, they should have just slashed their room rates and not let Kelly suffer in the deal. Why her camp agreed to this, I don’t know.

Britney Spears in Germany

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

Britney Spears flew in to Germany this past Monday for a mini-tour before her new album ‘Circus’ is officially released. Her MTV documentary ‘Britney: For the Record’, premiered this past Sunday. In the documentary, the recovered singer revealed that she married Kevin Federline for all the wrong reasons. She shared “Your music is a reflection of what you’re going through. It’s such a part of me, the record, because of what I’ve gone through. I think I married for the wrong reasons. Instead of following my heart and doing what made me really happy, I just did it for the sake of the idea of everything.”

Christina Aguilera Rocks the Middle East

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

Christina Aguilera rocked out the stage in a few outfits as she performed live in concert at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi last week. The performance in Abu Dhabi was the first time that the 27-year old powerhouse singer performed in the Middle East. Christina’s show drew approximately 15,000 fans and performed a set of both current songs and old classics. To think that the Middle East is a very conservative country, I’m surprised they let Christina perform in some of the outfits she wore and some of her old songs. It’s a good thing she didn’t bring out the assless pants from ‘Dirrty’.

Feist Takes a Break

Saturday, November 1st, 2008

Feist is going to be taking a breather or two or three or four when she’s done with her current tour. The Canadian singer isn’t retiring just yet. She says she just wants to collect herself after the success of her last album ‘The Reminder’. The singer told the Canadian Press “[My career] has become kind of large and it really began for me very, very small. Like me alone in my bedroom with my four-track and a pair of headphones. I just need to go back there for a while to get my bearings again and then know what to do next. I just need to let it rest for a minute.” Feist’s Canadian tour comes to an end in November.

Lily Allen Granted Entrance

Monday, October 20th, 2008

The US officials granted UK pop tar Lily Allen an American work visa recently. The troubled singer’s permit was revoked by immigration officials last year when she was arrested for attacking a photographer. I guess the grant came right on time as she is planning to do an American tour in 2009 to promote her second album. Lily spoke of the happy news saying “I got my U.S. visa today, yay! It means I can go and tour there and finish what I started, which is something I’ve wanted to do for a while.” Somehow, I don’t think anybody really cares.
