Lady Gaga recently announced the dates for the 2010 North American Monster Ball Tour. Tickets for the princess of pop’s show will be going on sale on March 19th. In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, the singer said “It’s still called Monster Ball, but it’s more of a musical and less of a concert. Paramore Singer Joins Weezer in Concert

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

Paramore’s lead singer Hayley Williams and Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo rocked out together at the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center last week in Florida. Florida State University took the top spot in the T-Mobile Motorola Cliq Challenge and won a free Weezer concert and $10,000 for the school’s enrichment. Hayley was the surprise guest at the show and DJ Steve Aoki spun beats. What I would have given to see that show! I’m a big fan of both bands, moreover, both singers. Maybe they could do a tour together. I would definitely pay for several shows to see that one over and over again.

Katy Perry Talks Twitter and Drinking

Friday, December 4th, 2009

Katy Perry, or at the very least the singer’s friends, seem to be very smart. The Twitter obsessed singer recently shared that her friends make sure that she doesn’t do anything stupid when she parties it up. Katy explained “Sometimes, whenever I go out — not when I’m on tour but when I’m at home and I’m out and I’m celebrating — if I have a couple of drinks my friends will take away my phone in fear of me buzz Twittering because you never know what I might say. And I’m glad they do it too.” I wonder if she has any friends that she can share with Courtney Love.

Leighton Meester Crashes Concert

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

Leighton Meester gave concertgoers a heck of a surprise when the ‘Gossip Girl’ actress turned singer decided to crash a Cobra Starship and Boys Like Girls concert at the Nokia Theater in Times Square, New York City last week. During the concert, the 23-year old jumped up on stage and sang ‘Good Girls Go Bad’ with Cobra Starship lead singer Gabe Saporta and the rest of the band. The crowd went absolutely wild! Maybe Leighton should just ditch her TV gig completely and just focus on her music career. It seems that even that’s doing better than ‘Gossip Girl’ ratings.

Another Taylor Swift Diss from Joe Jonas

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

It’s been a while since Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas broke up but it seems that they aren’t stopping with their disses any time soon. Joe took another stab at his country singer ex-girlfriend at one of the Jonas Brothers’ UK concerts in Birmingham last week. During the band’s song ‘Much Better’, Joe adds a subtle “wah wah wah” after the “tears on her guitar” lyric. Neither of them seem to be giving it a rest. I wonder why. Could it be that they still harbour some feelings for one another? Sorry if that’s the case Joe because I would rather see Taylor with Taylor Lautner.

Miley Cyrus Makes Gay Lyric Change

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Miley Cyrus decided to make a couple of changes to her lyrics at her concert in Kentucky earlier this week. In the Disney star’s song ‘7 Things’, Miley changed a line from “your games” to “you’re gay”. Of course, everyone on Twitter is talking about it. The big question is, was it just an innocent slip of the tongue from the singer or has she forgotten that she is an advocate for gay marriage? If Miley still had her Twitter account, I’m sure we would have already known the answer a few minutes after her concert. See, it was useful for some things.

Britney Spears Talks Australia

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Since Britney Spears arrived in Australia, there has been non-stop criticism from the media about her lip synching her concert. The rest of the world responded with a collective “Duh!”. Now, the pop singer has something to say. Brit said “I hear there is a lot of controversy in the media about my show. Some reporters have said they love it and some don’t. I came to Australia for my fans!” Aussie DJ Havana Brown has been the opening act for both the European and Australian legs of the tour and she was surprised by the reaction to Britney’s concerts in Australia. She said “I think it’s quite well known that she has lip-synched in the past. I don’t think it’s any surprise to anybody. There was nothing like that in Europe. I think everyone knew what they were in for, and I think everyone should know here as well. I’m not quite sure what the fuss is about.”

Kelly Clarkson Talks New Sound

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

Kelly Clarkson revealed in a new radio interview that she has started working on her 5th studio album and says that it’s going to be really different. The American Idol alum also said that she may not have time to write the whole album as she’s going to be on tour to promote her latest album ‘All I Ever Wanted’ until March 2010. That may be a good thing considering she’s made the mistake before with her disaster of an album ‘My December’. It’s good to have others helping the singer because more often than not, they know what they’re doing.

Kelly Clarkson working on something new

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

The singer recently came out and admitted that she’s working on her next album and it’s going to be different from those before it. This is what Kelly Clarkson said on the matter: “If I end up liking stuff that I’ve done then I’ll include it, but if I like other stuff better I’ll use that. Sometimes you’re just more inspired I guess, and sometimes if you have records that come you really close together it might be more other people’s songs. Because there’s not enough time to write and sing and perform and do everything.” No, doing all that stuff is for those wimpy musician fellows, Kelly Clarkson is in the music industry… she’s an industrial entrepreneur and industrial entrepreneurs don’t have time to make their own music and perform it and all that other crap relating to art!

Rihanna is a Cruise Ship Act

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

To celebrate the debut of the world’s largest cruise ship, Rihanna will be boarding the Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas on November 19th for a private concert. I never had an idea that those types of things have a huge draw, considering that they got the Barbadian singer involved. Rihanna will be performing as a part of the big ship’s three night preview voyage, being the first performer on the boat’s Aqua Theater, before the 5400-passenger ship officially sets sail in December. I wonder how much she’s getting paid for this gig. It must be huge. And I can just bet that she’s going to get the best room on the whole ship.

U2 Concert to Stream Live on YouTube

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

California, US: U2 have confirmed via video blog that their sold-out concert at the Pasadena Rose Bowl in California, Sunday 25th October 2009 will be streamed free, in full and live on YouTube. It’s the first time a show of this size will be streamed live.

The Rose Bowl show is the penultimate U2 show this year – with more to come in 2010 – and already is set to host the venue’s biggest ever audience of over 96, 000 fans. The 360˚ Tour, which has been critically acclaimed and “re-invents rock’n’roll”*, will now boast unique access for fans worldwide – as fans in territories yet to be visited by the tour, or not at all, will be able to enjoy the whole show online. Managed in partnership with Live Nation, this sell-out tour has broken attendance records in most venues it has visited – its success due in part to increased capacity coupled with a lower ticket price and great sight lines afforded by the stunning in-the-round stage set. Visit U2.com or youtube.com/u2official for details of how to join in this ground-breaking on-line event.

U2 manager Paul McGuinness said – “The band has wanted to do something like this for a long time. As we’re filming the LA show, it’s the perfect opportunity to extend the party beyond the stadium. Fans often travel long distances to come to see U2 – this time U2 can go to them, globally.”

YouTube will be streaming live across five continents. The show will be available in the usual You Tube way, as video-on-demand, following two full replays – after the live stream – on both U2.com and You Tube.

“YouTube is thrilled to be able to provide our global audience with a live streaming performance from one of the world’s greatest bands” – Chris Maxcy, Director of YouTube Partner Development. “We are always looking for new ways to connect fans around the world with their favourite artists, and this is the perfect opportunity to do just that.”

Kris Allen Does Britney Spears

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Kris Allen performed a special concert for Seton High School in Cincinnati, Ohio last Thursday. The school had won a contest and raised over $5000 for breast cancer research. The 24-year old American Idol champ sang his hit single ‘Live Like We’re Dying’ for the first time live and the singer even did a cover of a Britney Spears classic, ‘…Baby One More Time’. Apparently, the song is Kris’ favorite song to sing in the shower. Interesting. I bet a lot of the fan girls suddenly started imagining him in the shower minus singing the Britney song. Am I right?

All American Rejects Cancel Shows

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

After an unfortunate incident, the All American Rejects were forced to cancel last weekend’s shows. The band’s lead singer Tyson Ritter performed last week while sitting in a wheel chair with a leg brace during their gig in Tampa, Florida. However, it looked like the pain was just too much to bear and led the band to cancel their next three shows. The band posted a message on their website saying “The All-American Rejects are sorry to announce the cancellation of three upcoming show dates—two dates in support of Blink-182 and one headlining date in Atlantic City. Lead Singer Tyson Ritter sustained an injury while on tour and is taking necessary precautions for a speedy recovery. The All-American Rejects will return to the stage stateside when they kick-off their co-headlining tour with Taking Back Sunday on November 3rd in East Lansing, Michigan.”
