Christina Aguilera is featured on the cover of the February 2010 issue of Marie Claire. The 29-year old singer turned actress talked to the magazine about maturing in showbiz, motherhood and music. She said “I had a really hard time being light before. I’d get a little weird about it being too cliché. My first record was very clichéd pop – what everyone else wanted. [My second album Stripped] inspired by a lot of pain. [My third, Back to Basics,] /still had some sort of relation to my past. [My new album] is just about the future – my son in my life, motivating me to want to play and have fun.”

Christina Aguilera, who happens to be a one-time Pussycat Doll, will be making her silver screen debut in the movie musical ‘Burlesque’, which is being directed by Steve Antin, brother of PCD creator Robin Antin. Robin recently talked to MTV about how the singer is doing on the film. She said “It’s going very well, and Christina’s great. It’s a great opportunity for her, and she’s really talented, obviously. She came and was a guest in the Pussycat Dolls [in Las Vegas back in 2003], and that’s how that really happened; that’s how my brother met Christina. … I think the movie’s going to be very cool.”

Christina Aguilera will soon be appearing in a new World Hunger Relief campaign. The 28-year old singer will soon be seen on posters of participating restaurants with the quote “Together, we have the power to save lives and go from hunger to hope”. Christina will also be featured in online efforts, including the web site FromHungertoHope.com. Consumers can also go to any KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Long John Silver’s or A&W All-American Food restaurant to donate what they can, no purchase necessary. Let’s start making the world a better place by giving people the nutrition that they need to live.

The pop singer will be among the first three artists to host a station on the soon to be launched “a.p.e. radio”. The initials apparently stand for “artist personal experience” and the shows will be held by Clear Channel Radio in Association with Front Line Management. Apparently, we’re going to get the chance to see what exactly artists listen to. It will be curious to see if Christina Aguillera will actually put some of her own music on, but she probably wouldn’t be so bold as to do that. But if they get some others on the payroll… certain names of divas come to mind… things will probably get more and more interesting.

Apart from signing on to do a movie, Christina Aguilera is currently working on a new album. The singer recently talked to the LA Times about the new sound she’s trying to come up with. The 28-year old said “My last album had a vintage, retro, glam appeal. And this next album which I am almost finished and am about to release has a very modern sense about it. Futuristic in terms of looking into the future and giving it a new twist and a new sensibility. I am working with a lot of electro artists to make that come alive. That is what really inspires me at the moment.”

Christina Aguilera is quite the picture of a proud mother when she talks about hr 15-month old son Max. The singer recently told People “He’s absorbing everything like a sponge right now. We have to be cautious what we’re saying around him! He’s speaking a little Spanish too. He said mama and papa months ago. Vacuum was one of his first words! He has a cleaning fetish and he loves to run around with a rag and dust and clean, and he loves to clean his high chair after he’s done eating. It’s so cute! I’ll lift him down and the first thing he does is to take a rag and clean off his chair. He’s mommy’s little helper.”

It was mentioned a while back that Christina Aguilera has reached out to Australian singer and songwriter Sia for help with her newest studio effort. Sia has chosen to report on their collaboration in a new blog entry saying that all went well with Christina. Sia wrote “the week turned out 4 beautiful songs,four new mates,several new dog loves,fine dining, followed by super mario,apples to apples and a game of pool. i lost unwaveringly. gratefully,i’m a demon at scrabble,and I’ve challenged her to a tournament. i can never be a better singer than her,but i sure can hope to get the word ‘hexagons’ on a triple word score,you feel me? i definitely pooped my pants when she first sang out loud in the room with us. little prickles stood up all over me,and marched first up,then down,then up again… i love her.
she’s a nice person.”

Christina Aguilera was recently announced to be the next celebrity designer for London fashion chain TopShop, which is owned by Philip Green. The 28-year old singer is expected to earn over $1 million per range that she will design for Britain’s foremost fashion range. A source said “Philip loves her style and believes she would add something new to TopShop,” a source said. Christina is the blonde bombshell who is into pop whereas Kate [Moss] is the rock chick and model.” Here’s to hoping that Christina isn’t going to rip off of the fashion styles of Marilyn Monroe or Lady Gaga. And I’m praying that it’s nowhere near her dirrty days.

A new Christina Aguilera song has been leaked out called ‘Falling in Love Again (Can’t Help It)’. The song is featured in ‘The Spirit’, in theaters now, with Scarlett Johansson and Eva Mendes. Thank goodness that it is nowhere near sounding like a Lady Gaga song. Here’s some lyrics: “Falling in love again I never wanted to/What am I to do, I can’t help it/Love has always been my game/Play it how I may/I was made that way I can’t help it/Men cluster to me like moths around a flame/And if their wings burn I know I’m not to blame/Falling in love again I never wanted to/What am I to do I can’t help it”.

Katy Perry, the singer who happens to be very fond of thematic outfits, channeled her inner Spaniard via a costume that seemed to be inspired by Madonna’s ‘Isla Bonita’ at the 55th Annual ONDA Awards which was held in Barcelona, Spain recently. As usual, the controversial ‘I Kissed a Girl’ singer looked cute at a button. She can pull off practically everything she decides to wear. It’s all about confidence kids. And Katy is overflowing with it without being arrogant like some people. *cough*Christina Aguilera*cough* Let’s hope Katy remains as grounded as she is right now. I would hate to see the day that she turns out like Christina.

Christina Aguilera has recently spoken to MTV about her new look that people are comparing to Lady Gaga saying that the powerhouse singer was copying the dance singer off of. Christina said that she was inspired by anything but Gaga saying “I was very inspired by the look and feel of that [pop-art] genre, your Jane Birkins, your Blondies, females who have come before who have done this so many times and so well — almost as an homage to them. Also, speaking of [Andy] Warhol, Nico from the Velvet Underground… so it all kind of ties in to a pop-art feel and twist, with a mod look. But a futuristic taste of what’s to come.”

Christina Aguilera rocked out the stage in a few outfits as she performed live in concert at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi last week. The performance in Abu Dhabi was the first time that the 27-year old powerhouse singer performed in the Middle East. Christina’s show drew approximately 15,000 fans and performed a set of both current songs and old classics. To think that the Middle East is a very conservative country, I’m surprised they let Christina perform in some of the outfits she wore and some of her old songs. It’s a good thing she didn’t bring out the assless pants from ‘Dirrty’.

Christina Aguilera and her husband Jordan Bratman were spotted grabbing a late lunch at Magnolia restaurant on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood last Saturday. It is being reported that the lunch date at one of Christina’s favorite restaurants came at the heels of the singer shooting the music video for ‘Oh Mother’ from her third studio album ‘Back to Basics’.

Speaking of mother, her chic maternity clothes are doing all the announcing for her when it comes to being a mother. If there is justice in the world, let’s all hope that they’re actually having a girl. Don’t tell me you can’t imagine Christina slapping on the bright red lipstick and fake lashes on a baby girl.
