Style queen Rihanna came at the InStyle and Grammy Salute to Fashion at nightclub Boulevard 3 on Thursday in Los Angeles wearing a black lace dress and ‘Fiona’ shoes by Jimmy Choo. Did I say style queen? Not this time. This dress was a miss. I think her stylist had a temporary case of insanity when this dress was picked.
Anyway, the 19-year old Barbados singer will be bringing together several decades for her Grammy performance. She will be joining 80s band The Time. Other performers include Feist, Beyonce, Foo Fighters, Alicia Keys, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Aretha Franklin and Mary J. Blige.
Gwen Stefani was willing to yield for the Muslims but Beyonce is not having it. Her Kuala Lumpur concert that was supposed to take place on November 1 has been canceled due to protests by Muslim groups. These Muslims are very hardcore people and they always have objections to stage show performances by international artist. Gwen might have made some prior commitments so she just went through the routines during her show in Kuala Lumpur but I am more of the Beyonce thought that if you are not going to be able to perform as your usual self then there is no point in doing the show. If y’all remember Gwen had some strict rules to abide by such as no hugging or kissing audience members, no jumping or shouting, and no revealing clothing. Beyonce is too diva to let anyone tell her what she can’t do, wear or say.
Beyonce recently had an interview with Latina Magazine that has everyone wishing that they could turn back time and just erase her from existence. Beyonce tells the magazine that “I’m just jealous that I wasn’t born Latina. I wish I had been because the culture is so beautiful.” If she’s going to come up with an original thought, maybe she should write it down and read it first. Talk about putting your foot in your mouth.
She goes on to say “I noticed a big difference between speaking to all of the Latino stations and speaking to the pop stations or the other stations. With the Latino stations, there was so much love and everyone is so genuine.”
Where was her mother, Jay-Z or even her publicist when this went on?
Kelly Rowland, one of the founding members of Destiny’s Child, has gone and done a Mariah. Well, not really. She actually ended up passing out during her concert this past weekend.
Her representatives cited the good old excuse of ‘dehydration’ as the cause of the little incident. Kelly is said to be doing fine after her fainting spell. Right.
Are we sure that it’s ‘dehydration’? It could be drugs or it could be because she’s anorexic or it could be because of Beyonce. Why Beyonce? I don’t know. I just wanted to blame her.
Hey, it works. People don’t see you when you blame her. Eh.
Looks like Fergie is not so “Glamorous” anymore, she falls down to number 3. Avril Lavigne’s “Girlfriend” is now leading the top of MTV’s Top10 Videos at number 1. Next to the girl punk rocker is Beyonce’s “Beautiful Liar” on number 2. Will the punk rock attitude of Avril be able to hold her on the top of the chart? Below are the top 10 hit makers.
1. Girlfriend • Avril Lavigne
2. Beautiful Liar • Beyonce
3. Glamorous • Fergie
4. Don’t Matter • Akon
5. Like A Boy • Ciara
6. Sweet Sacrifice • Evanescence
7. What Goes Around….Comes Around • Justin Timberlake

9. With Love • Hilary Duff
10. Like This • Kelly Rowland
Beyoncé Knowles managed to nab six nominations for the 2007 BET Awards. The show also gave nods to her co-stars in Dream Girls and is actually handing out a lifetime achievement award to the woman that inspired the story, Diana Ross. All of Beyoncé’s nominations are for her music though and not her acting.
I say, why nominate her for anything at all? I agree, the songs are catchy but they’re not all that. I honestly don’t get the point of saying “to the left to the left” over and over again. She just lacks substance in all forms of her job whether it’s acting OR singing.
I think they should hold all the music nominations away from her. Wait a year. Then out comes Melinda Dolittle to kick her ass. Oh yes!!! Now there’s a girl that can sing songs with substance and has the best personality out of anyone out there. I’d trade all Beyoncé’s, Britney’s, Madonna’s, Ciara’s and whoever else for one Melinda.
