I hear Amy Winehouse is in the market for a new wardrobe designer. Ha! I’m guessing Kanye’s not lining up for the job.
Kanye is, however, hooking up with Louis Vuitton to create a new line of shoes for men and women. Looking at Kanye’s style, I’m betting those will be some hot shoes. He’s also working with Takashi Murakami, a lead artist.
Also in November, Kanye is set to launch a clothing line to go with the jewelry line he already has.
Duffy is tired of being compared with other female singers. The 23-year-old Welsh singer - real name Aimee Anne Duffy - has been compared with Dusty Springfield and hailed as the ‘new Amy Winehouse’ since releasing her breakthrough single ‘Mercy’ earlier this year, but wants to be recognized in her own right.
She said: “To be honest, if it’s not Leona Lewis, it’s Amy Winehouse. I’m being compared with Lily Allen or Dusty Springfield, bless her soul, she was an amazing woman. I just feel like one day I’ll be known as myself, but time will tell.”
The singer - who won Single of the Year for ‘Mercy’ at MOJO Honours List 2008 on Monday - also spoke about how far she had come.
She added: “This time last year I was eating fish and chips on a North Wales beach! This is my first big awards ceremony. No one cared about me then so I don’t know why they do now.”
Duffy remained tight-lipped over rumors she is set to record the theme song for the new James Bond movie, ‘Quantum of Solace’, teasingly saying: “A lady never exposes her secrets. You’ve got to leave this Welsh girl alone.”
Songstress MIA recently had a sit down with Uptown magazine where she was asked about what she thought of British singers like Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen. What she had to say was funny, mean and the truth all at the same time. She said “The biggest thing coming out of England right now are singers like Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen. ‘Rehab’ singer Amy has been working with the Babyshambles rocker since he left prison last week but has been unimpressed with his musical efforts. A source said: “Pete’s really struggling to get it together. It hasn’t clicked yet. Amy has thrown back every song Pete has written for her. She keeps telling him they’re rubbish, and worse, and she’ll only perform if the song is great. When she’s in the studio she can be ruthless and doesn’t care about hurting people.”
Pete and Amy have been spotted together nearly every day since the former Libertines star got his freedom back. Amy started work on a number of tracks with Pete’s Babyshambles bandmate Mick Whitnall while the ‘Killamangiro’ singer was still in Wormwood Scrubs Prison.
The pair intended to meet up earlier this week for a jam at the Jazz After Dark venue in London’s Soho, but by the time they arrived at the venue, 2am, it had closed.

Band frontman Pete Doherty confirmed the ‘Rehab’ singer teamed up with guitarist Mick Whitnall in the studio while he was in London’s Wormwood Scrubs Prison.
He said: ‘Mick and Amy have a great relationship. They have been working on material while I was in prison. When I came out I went straight to the recording studio. I just want to get the music going. We’ve been told we will be doing a third album. That will keep me busy and hopefully out of trouble.’
The collaboration, first sounded out last year, is tipped to be released as a single and will appear on the next Babyshambles album.

The range will include hairspray, but the signature piece is set to be the heavy liquid eyeliner the Rehab singer has made famous. She has a meeting scheduled for later this week to discuss the project with fashion and cosmetics experts.
A pal revealed yesterday: “Amy’s style has been copied by girls around the country and there’s a lot of money to be made. It’s a very distinctive look. She wants to bring out a range of cosmetics and fashion products. There could be hairspray, head scarves, liquid eyeliner, perfume. All the things that are distinctive of her look.”
A fashion industry source added: “I think this stuff would sell very well in London. She has become a fashion icon despite not always looking too fresh.”
Amy Winehouse’s turbulent marriage is looking shakier than ever as she gears up for her big Brits performance tonight.
The singer missed a crucial awards show rehearsal on Monday after learning that her jailbird hubby Blake Fielder-Civil was trading her signed pictures for hits of heroin. Distraught Amy thought he was swapping the snaps for cigarettes from other lags in London’s Pentonville Prison.
Her friends believe his sordid deals have pushed her “closer than ever” to ditching the junkie loser. A Brits source revealed: “Amy was supposed to rehearse on Monday, but didn’t show up after she discovered Blake had been trading pictures of her for drugs. It’s a real shame she wasn’t there for the rehearsal. Everyone got really worried. It’s sad Blake has sent her into turmoil again just before her big night. She’s been working so hard to get her head together for this.”

Blake Fielder-Civil was rushed to the jail’s hospital block when he collapsed in agony after taking what he thought was heroin. Guards found the 35-year-old writhing in pain and vomiting violently in a cell. They instantly set off alarms and activated emergency procedures to save his life.
A probe was launched and prison officers found he had taken a drug believed to be heroin, mixed with a toxic substance. A jail source said: “This was a close call, but he might not be so lucky next time. If he carries on taking so many drugs, he’ll end up dead before long.”
Even though she didn’t make it to sing live on stage, Amy rocked the Grammys with her performance via satellite from London. But that wasn’t nearly her biggest accomplishment for the night.

Amy Winehouse is nominated for 6 Grammy Awards and is even slated to perform on the show which will go down live on Sunday in Los Angeles. However, don’t look for her there because Wino’s visa application to enter the US was just rejected by the American Embassy in London.
Amy’s UK-based publicist has released a statement regarding the matter saying “Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and although disappointed with the decision has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery. There will of course be other opportunities and she very much looks forward to visiting America in the near future.”
Mika has revealed he wants to collaborate with Amy Winehouse on a Jewish album.
Beirut-born Mika’s mother is Lebanese, and having learned that Amy was planning an album of Christmas and Hanukkah songs, he is keen to get involved to “make a statement”.
The flamboyant singer revealed: “I heard Amy will be recording an album of Jewish music once she gets well and I’d like to make a contribution to it. I really like her music. Think about this - me, a part-Lebanese artist working on a Jewish album. I think that’s a nice statement. I’d like to make a statement some day.”
Israel and Lebanon have had years of violent conflict. I’m not sure that Mika singing about Big Girls or Lollipops will make much of an impact on the situation; but I like his sentiment.

Apart from being grossed out, concert goers were angered by the ‘Rehab’ singer on Saturday when she gave one of the worst performances of her career. Knowing her track record, that says a lot. Wino actually walked out of the concert midway through her set!

They all say this kinda thing….just before all the nastiest come crawling out of the closet. Secretly I think all these singers and celebrities have taken drugs at least once even if it were to have a taste of things or to get high to vent out the anger in them. I think KT too knows what drugs are like and has this inner feeling that if someday she falls prey to drugs and gets addicted to drugs them it could harm her career very badly to the extent that making a comeback thereafter would be hard. Look at Britney, she is making so many attempts to resurrect her career but its been bombing at every attempt.
Amy Winehouse’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil has hit out at judges of the Mercury Music Prize, insisting the singer was “robbed” of the $40,000 award. They most probably did not want to reward this druggie. Good for them. “She is really well and doesn’t need to go back to rehab”…sure, it would be great if all drug users can get the monkey off their backs so fast. It was not but 2 or 3 weeks ago that she landed in a fight with her husband with him ending up with scratches all over his face and neck when he caught her about to do drugs with a prostitute in their bathroom. She’s really well and she doesn’t need to go back into rehab.” He is no better than a piece of sh*t himself and he needs to go to the rehab and this time alone not in the company of Amy.
She needs to stop making excuses about her idiot boyfriend and get away from both him and the drugs. Long ago I have said that the regulators of music industry need to put a brake on the work that these music artist and movies stars do on an year to year period. At times they are not working for years on the trot which is good like a much needed break. But when they are set to release an album and they start with the promotions that’s the time when they are exhausted like Amy was reported to before she checked into the rehab. In other words I think exhaustion today is a synonym for drugs. They need a stress buster and drugs work well for them. Look at what state she is as of today, she can’t give a live performance. But since she is a star singer she is being written about. Why doesn’t someone pick her up and dump her in the garbage tin outside her own house and get her thrown away at a remote destination. So by the time she walks back home some of that exhaustion is turned into legs paining.
When Amy Winehouse said, “no, no, no” to rehab, she meant it. Taking better care of herself is a different matter, though. The 23-year-old British soul singer has decided to cancel her scheduled August concerts for health reasons, a spokeswoman said Thursday.
“Amy Winehouse is putting all her touring commitments for this month on hold until further notice in order to address her health issues,” Tracey Miller said in a statement. “Amy will now not be performing at this weekend’s V Festival in Chelmsford and Staffordshire. Her family has requested that the media respect Amy’s privacy at this time. There will be no further comment.”

After a false alarm last week that she had checked into a treatment facility after her drug overdose, Amy Winehouse along with her husband Blake Fielder-Civil are finally entering rehab.
The Mirror is reporting that Wino and hubby treatment center in America this past weekend to deal with her addiction to heroin and cocaine and his own addictions. The last straw for Amy’s family was when her best friend caught her smoking heroin on Friday night just days after her overdose.
After a fight broke between Wino’s dad and Blake’s parents, the pair eventually relented.
Rehab rarely works the first time. Here’s to hoping it actually sticks… for her sake.
News flash! Amy Winehouse was rushed to the hospital yesterday morning after some sort of incident. Reps for the tattooed singer confirmed that she was taken to a London hospital and treated for ‘exhaustion’. She has since been discharged and is now at home with orders of taking ‘complete rest’.
When asked about what brought the health scare on, the rep could only say ‘it came about quickly’ and that the grueling tour schedule is most likely to blame. For now, all her shows have been canceled.
Exhaustion? It came about quickly? It’s what I would call a cover up for alcohol poisoning. Yes?
