Fiona Apple is Back

Monday, April 13th, 2009

The wonderfully talented Fiona Apple has been laying on the down low since the release of her last album, ‘Extraordinary Machine’ a few years ago. But that was then and this is now. The singer and songwriter is easing her way back into the public spotlight, contributing a song to a new Cy Coleman tribute EP. If you don’t know who he is, he happens to be a legendary musical theatre. Fiona has done a mighty exquisite cover of Cy’s ‘Why Try to Change Me Now?’ Welcome back Fiona! I hope she decides to make another album soon. One amazing track is not enough!

Kate Voegele Readies New Album

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

Singer-songwriter Kate Voegele is gearing up for the May release of A Fine Mess, the highly anticipated follow-up to her 2008 debut album, Don’t Look Away (MySpace/Interscope). Voegele recorded the album in Los Angeles with producer Mike Elizondo (Rihanna, Maroon 5, Pink).

The 22-year-old has been racking up frequent flier miles of late, jetting back and forth between L.A. and Wilmington, North Carolina, where she’s also shooting new episodes of the CW Network’s hit TV series “One Tree Hill.” This season sees Voegele reprising her role as singer-songwriter Mia. She made headlines last year by performing several songs on the show, all from Don’t Look Away.

In their year-end issue, Billboard magazine spotlighted the 10 biggest film and television placement/appearances of 2008 and put Voegele’s involvement with “One Tree Hill” at No. 1. Wrote Billboard Sr. Editor Ann Donohue, “There’s getting a song placed in a prime-time show and then there’s getting cast in that show to play your own music and have the show’s creator write storylines for you inspired by your songs. Such was the case for Kate Voegele…”.

The new season of “One Tree Hill” will see Voegele giving audiences sneak previews of songs from the upcoming album, beginning with the March 16th episode, when she will premiere a brand-new track titled “Manhattan From The Sky.”

Voegele, hailed by Entertainment Weekly for being among the best of “the new golden age of female singer-songwriters,” spent the majority of 2008 touring in support of debut album Don’t Look Away, the record that earned her “Artist To Watch In ‘08” accolades from Billboard. Over the course of the year, she shared stages with Natasha Bedingfield, The Veronicas, Ben Lee, Cary Brothers and launched her own headlining tour.
Voegele performed on “Live with Regis and Kelly” and CBS’ “The Early Show,” and also appeared on “TRL” and Fuse-TV’s “The Sauce.” She recently gave a special acoustic performance on the ABC-TV’s “The Bachelor.” She’s also been featured on the cover of USA Today’s “Life” section and appeared in the pages of People, CosmoGirl, TV Guide and Giant, to name but a few.

Check out Kate’s latest video blog to sneak a peek inside the studio while she works on the new album.

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

Hana Pestle is a self-proclaimed Twilight fanatic. The nineteen year old singer/songwriter from Billings, Montana believes she has the perfect song for the next movie and has started a movement to get “Need” in the forthcoming New Moon. The hauntingly beautiful track was one of her first compositions written at only fifteen years old in 2004. It was produced /co-written for her album by Ben Moody (co-founder of Evanescence) and Michael “Fish” Herring with string arrangements by David Campbell and piano performance by David Hodges (Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry). Check out the “Need for New Moon” page to learn more about the mission and watch a personal video message from Hana.

Kelly Clarkson Album Art

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Kelly Clarkson has released the artwork for her new single ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’. It looks like it’s been edited a whole lot but I still think it looks hot. And it’s a start contrast to the publicity images of her last album ‘My December’. From dark and brooding to blonde, red and shiny. I think she’s embracing the pop whole heartedly this time around. Thank the heavens for that! I sure hope that the original American Idol will make a great comeback. Apart from the temporary moment of insanity of hers known as ‘My December’, she’s really a great singer.

CAN’T WAIT FOR U2!!!

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

I am a big fan of U2 and now I have a release date!

The band’s No Line On The Horizon is scheduled to be released in North America on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009.
This will be the group’s 12th album!

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Their last, How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, was released way back in 2004 and sold over nine million copies.

How many will they sell this time around.
What’s even more great about this album is that the group recorded this album all over the world.

They began last year in Fez, Morocco, and then did some work in their studio in Ireland. After that they recorded some of the tracks in New York and finally some in London.

Let’s hope all the different locations helped inspire them.

We can’t wait to hear it!!!!

Britney Spears Goes Big

Friday, December 12th, 2008

Industry insiders are predicting that Britney Spear’s latest album ‘Circus’ is on track to sell over 450,000 copies and will be on the top spot of the charts after a week of sales. Experts had previously thought that the recovered singer will only sell around the 350,000 mark in the first week. She proved them wrong big time! It goes to show that people still care about Britney despite the craziness of the past year. This is a huge victory for the singer especially considering the fact that her last album ‘Blackout’ only sold 290,000 copies its debut week. Congratulations!

Britney Leaks

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Britney Spears’ new album ‘Circus’ has leaked in its entirety all over the internet recently. It was more than two weeks ahead of the anticipated release. It shouldn’t be too hard to find. To be honest, I like it less than ‘Black Out’ except for the track ‘If U Seek Amy’ which is a pretty killer track. It’s just too bad that it’s a rip off of Jessie Malakouti’s ‘Trash Me’. The similarities are just too much to be ignored. Not to mention that the producers run in the same circles. There’s a great chance that they heard Jessie’s track before and though that it will be a great song for Britney.

Surprise Tim McGraw Album

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Tim McGraw’s label has gone ahead and released another of the singer’s greatest hits album – without Tim’s knowledge or permission. Tim says that he feels most for his fans saying “It has to be just as confusing to the fans as it is to me.” The reason is that this is the second compilation album since 2006 with only one studio album in between. He also says that he’s been working on a studio album for over a year now, performing new tracks on tour and hoping to release the new album in the fall but that he now has to hold off on that. Tim tells his fans “In the spirit of the election year, I would simply say to my fans ‘I’m Tim McGraw and I don’t approve their message.’” Considering that the album was produced without any communication with him, it’s rightfully so.

Britney Spears is a “waitress”?

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

britney-spears-womanizer.jpg

Yes! I am not kidding or joking. I swear by God that I have seen the pop queen Britney Spears serving on the tables in a restaurant.

Do you still think that I may be sleeping at that time?

But NO, I am damn confident that I was awake and I saw her with my own eyes.

Well! In fact it was the latest music video of the “Crazy” singer.

The title of the song is “Womanizer” and it is quite similar to her other pre-Blackout videos.

Apart from Britney, who played a waitress and an erotic dancer, the other dancers also sported waiter uniforms which consisted of white shirts, skinny ties and black pants/ leggings.

“Womanizer,” is the first single by the pop star in her upcoming album “Circus”.
