Rihanna is Glamour’s Woman of the Year
November 13th, 2009Rihanna recently made a public appearance in New York when she accepted the Glamour Woman of the Year Award. After a touching video showing clips of the singer’s career and volunteer efforts, the Barbadian beauty took to the stage to accept her award. She said “It was a real honor to be named Glamour’s Woman of the Year, especially because I think of myself as just becoming a woman. I just turned 21 this year. Just to be mentioned in this group of women is overwhelming. I love being a part of a night where we’re celebrating women and such strong women.” Rihanna also took time to thank several people, including her record label, Jay-Z, her mother and her grandmother.
