Brooke Shields fights back tears as she pays tribute to Michael Jackson

Jackson’s former girlfriend Brooke Shields fought back tears as she told how they were always described as “the odd couple”.
“Thinking back to when we met and the many times we spent together and whenever we were out together, and there would be a picture taken, there would be a caption of some kind.
“The caption usually said something like, ‘An odd couple’ or ‘An unlikely pair’.
“But to us it was the most natural and easiest of friendships.
“I was 13 when we met and, from that day on, our friendship grew.
“We had a bond.
“Maybe it was because we both understood what it was like to be in the spotlight from a very young age.”
She added, “Both of us needed to be adults very early, but when we were together we were two little kids having fun.
“Michael just loved to laugh. His heart would just burst out of him when he was laughing…
She described Jackson as “a lover of life” and told mourners at the memorial, “Seeing him smile made you feel like everything was going to be alright.”
The actress also revealed that Jackson’s favourite song was Smile by Charlie Chaplin, which was then performed by his brother Jermaine.
Heavily pregnant Jennifer Hudson and John Mayer also gave musical performances, while basketball stars Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson added their tributes.
