Massive investigation sparked into Michael Jackson’s doctors over several years
June 30th, 2009Police are planning a massive investigation into numerous doctors who have been treating Michael Jackson for several years.
Officer have been back into the late superstar’s rented home and taken away two large evidence bags full of medications.
And it emerged that officials are planning a major sweep on anyone who had treated the superstar over the years as family and friends fear he was addicted to prescription pills.
Officers have already interviewed Dr Conrad Murray, the star’s ‘personal physician’ who was with the King of Pop when he collapsed and died.
Now they plan to sweep far wider, with officers looking into family fears that doctors have been giving him ‘an easy, steady stream’ of powerful pills for many years, making him an ‘addict’ whose body was slowly destroyed.
Numerous sources have confirmed that the LAPD is looking to contact “an unknown number of doctors” over possible illnesses and also medications he has been taking.
News of the extended probe comes as investigators once again went to Jackson’s rented home in Holmby Hlls and removed “medical evidence”.
Craig Harvey, chief of operations for the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, said two large evidence bags of medical materials were taken.
Harvey said: “Investigators went to Michael Jackson’s rented mansion and removed additional medical evidence as part of our work with the LAPD on the death investigation.”
Although the autopsy was completed Friday, a cause of death won’t be known for several weeks, pending the toxicology results.
