Carrie Underwood Doesn’t Live in Sin

November 20th, 2009

Despite reports that Carrie Underwood accepted boyfriend NHL player Mike Fisher’s invitation for the country singer to live with him in Canada, she said that it didn’t happen at all. The American Idol alum cleared up the rumor on her official fan club site, saying “I read something recently that a certain someone and I were moving in together. This is beyond not true…just another example of people making stuff up out of thin air! …Neither one of us would ever do that. I would never live with my boyfriend…not my style.” I guess that Carrie isn’t a fan of living in sin.

Adam Lambert Gets Out Honors

November 18th, 2009

It’s not like anyone else could have taken the title from him but Adam Lambert has been honored in the new issue of Out magazine as the Breakout of the Year and he tells the magazine that he’s doing the best that he can when it comes to his career and fame. The singer talked about being a performer and taking on American Idol, saying “I’ve lived in L.A. for eight years. It’s about making a good TV show. I just wanted to be really careful that it didn’t turn into a fucking pageant. I can sing my face off. All this other stuff is part of a personality, a persona.”

New Courtney Love Album

November 17th, 2009

Courtney Love is going to be releasing a new album, ‘Nobody’s Daughter’, in January. This will mark the rock star’s first album since 2004’s ‘America’s Sweetheart’. The singer is going back to her roots though as she will release it under her old band’s name, Hole. The band hasn’t had an album out since 1998’s ‘Celebrity Skin’ and the new band includes Courtney and guitarist Micko Larkin. She said “Wherever I lay my head is Hole. It’s four letters. It is one of the best band names in fucking history, if I do say so myself. For a while I was a little embarrassed it was maybe vulgar, but at least it’s not phallic. It’s H-O-L-E, it’s a great band name, and it’s mine.” The new album was also said to be influenced by David Bowie, Pink Floyd and 80s goth, with underlying themes of greed, vengeance and feminism.

Robbie Williams Reunites with Take That

November 17th, 2009

While being questioned by reporters, Robbie Williams made a lame attempt at trying to keep a big secret under wraps. Unfortunately for the singer, he absolutely sucked. According to him, he has gone back into the studio and back to his former boy band roots with Take That. Robbie says that the new tracks are absolutely amazing and that he’s very excited about the new project. Considering that he’s been flaky when it comes to his own career, going back to the band that he once left could probably be the only way to salvage his music career. Sucks for him.

Russell Brand won’t ever clean up his act

November 16th, 2009

SPL136357_007

”I ain’t afraid, I don’t give a —-. I will not lose my edge,” he said at a DVD signing in London that was attended by fans in their hundreds.

Brand launched into a commentary on his fellow stand-up comedians who were slammed as offensive – Jimmy Carr and Frankie Boyle – saying, ”I’ve heard them jokes, they’re good jokes they are. Frankie Boyle is brilliant and Jimmy Carr is brilliant. They’re not trying to be offensive, no one is actually offended, the people saying they’re offended aren’t actually offended, the whole thing is constructed.”

Brand continued:”If you hear it (the joke) delivered cold, like vomit into the nape of your neck, it might be offensive, but mucking around I don’t think is offensive.”

Speaking of the Manuel-gate, the scandal involving lewd messages he left on actor Andrew Sachs’s answer phone, he said, ”I would’ve done nothing differently. I apologise for the thing I did wrong to the person I did it to but the whole subsequent scandal was funny, it is funny I think. It’s just rhubarb and guff.”

Brand also took a moment to comment on Katy Perry’s outfit at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Berlin, which she hosted with sexy lingerie tagged with his name and that of the West Ham team.

He said: ”I don’t think she realised the impact it would have on me because there isn’t a single person in my life that I haven’t at some point sulked about or not spoken to, but with West Ham, even when we went down, there’s not been a single time when I’ve not supported them, plus, she looked amazing.”

Leona Lewis Talks Attack

November 16th, 2009

Leona Lewis is opening up more about the recent assault that she suffered through. The 24-year old singer recently explained that her tough upbringing helped her get through the ordeal. The X Factor alum told The Sun “When you grow up where I did you learn to move on. There was always some kind of craziness going on in my neighborhood. It’s horrible, no matter who you are, to be physically attacked by someone, but I’m not letting it worry me. I know it was an isolated incident. It’s just a shame it happened at all. I’m now trying to put it in the past and get over it. I’m a positive person and I try to look at the good side of everything.”

Kellie Pickler Goes Red

November 15th, 2009

Kellie Pickler showed off her new hair at the 2009 CMA Awards at the Sommet Center on Wednesday in Nashville, Tennessee. The 23-year old American Idol alum talked about her now fiery red hair, saying “It’s different. I wanted to try something new. We got a lot of blondes in country music, so I thought I’m gonna give Reba [McEntire] some company.” The singer described her hair as “kind of like autumn”. She told Access Hollywood that “I was actually in cosmetology. I haven’t done this color, but I like it. It’s different.” That it does. And just like Kellie, I like it too.

Wynonna Judd Disses Taylor Swift

November 14th, 2009

Everyone already knows how Taylor Swift beat out the competition at the Country Music Association Awards earlier this week. The country singer made CMA history when she won all 4 awards and being the youngest and first female solo act to win the entertainer of the year award. However, not everyone thinks that she deserved to win. Wynonna Judd thinks Taylor is too young, saying “You want my honest comment? It’s too much too soon. Time is God’s way of keeping everything from happening at once. It’s just too much of a good thing too soon. My thing is, being a home-school mom, I want kids to earn it, and I think some time … ’cause mom and I rode in a car for the first year of our career to visit radio stations. There was a making of the star, there was a rising up, and the fans went with us. Now it’s over coffee breaks, the success, almost. You have to play catch up … It’s like the girl who wins an Oscar and she’s under 20. What do you do from here?” Wynonna’s just jealous.

Miley Cyrus Makes Gay Lyric Change

November 13th, 2009

Miley Cyrus decided to make a couple of changes to her lyrics at her concert in Kentucky earlier this week. In the Disney star’s song ‘7 Things’, Miley changed a line from “your games” to “you’re gay”. Of course, everyone on Twitter is talking about it. The big question is, was it just an innocent slip of the tongue from the singer or has she forgotten that she is an advocate for gay marriage? If Miley still had her Twitter account, I’m sure we would have already known the answer a few minutes after her concert. See, it was useful for some things.

Britney Spears Talks Australia

November 13th, 2009

Since Britney Spears arrived in Australia, there has been non-stop criticism from the media about her lip synching her concert. The rest of the world responded with a collective “Duh!”. Now, the pop singer has something to say. Brit said “I hear there is a lot of controversy in the media about my show. Some reporters have said they love it and some don’t. I came to Australia for my fans!” Aussie DJ Havana Brown has been the opening act for both the European and Australian legs of the tour and she was surprised by the reaction to Britney’s concerts in Australia. She said “I think it’s quite well known that she has lip-synched in the past. I don’t think it’s any surprise to anybody. There was nothing like that in Europe. I think everyone knew what they were in for, and I think everyone should know here as well. I’m not quite sure what the fuss is about.”

Rihanna is Glamour’s Woman of the Year

November 13th, 2009

Rihanna recently made a public appearance in New York when she accepted the Glamour Woman of the Year Award. After a touching video showing clips of the singer’s career and volunteer efforts, the Barbadian beauty took to the stage to accept her award. She said “It was a real honor to be named Glamour’s Woman of the Year, especially because I think of myself as just becoming a woman. I just turned 21 this year. Just to be mentioned in this group of women is overwhelming. I love being a part of a night where we’re celebrating women and such strong women.” Rihanna also took time to thank several people, including her record label, Jay-Z, her mother and her grandmother.

Adam Lambert Fails to Sell Big

November 13th, 2009

Adam Lambert’s debut single ‘For Your Entertainment’ has failed to get some legs and isn’t selling very well on iTunes at all. As of Monday morning, the American Idol alum’s song was only at number 76 after already being on the iTunes chart for a week. That doesn’t bode well for the singer’s album release next week. I wonder where he went wrong with it. I like the song just fine. Has all the hype surrounding him fizzled out already? Or has my liking of the song just some preconception because I really wished for him to succeed.

Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden to grow beard after Twitter vote

November 12th, 2009

SPL133483_020

Good Charlotte star Joel Madden has revealed that he has not shaved for five weeks – because girlfriend Nicole Richie likes him with a “dirty face”.

The 30-year-old rocker blogged on his Twitter page about not shaving in over a month, and then asked his Twitter followers to vote whether he should shave or not.

He tweeted: “Should I shave? [I] haven’t in five weeks…”

Madden later added that his followers had voted against him shaving, adding: “OK, so the tweets have spoken – 80 per cent say I should not shave. If that is your wish, then I will not shave. But by mid-Jan I should have a beard.”

He then listed the “three good reasons why Joel should not shave” as being: “1. It’s November 2. Nicole likes me with a dirty face 3. I’m lazy.”

It comes two months after the 48-year-old singer first appeared on US TV, during an episode of America’s Got Talent.

Mariah Carey Talks Abuse

November 9th, 2009

Mariah Carey revealed on Larry King Live that she has also been affected by abuse in relationships. Are we sure she’s not just riding the coattails of Rihanna’s interview regarding the assault Chris Brown put her through? The curvaceous singer said “Abuse has several categories. Emotionally, mentally, in other ways. I just think you get into a situation and you feel locked in — if your situation is similar to one of the situations I’ve been in, which I won’t harp on. For me, to really get out, it was difficult because there was a connection that was not only a marriage but a business thing where the person was in control of my life.” She’s talking about Sony Music exec Tommy Mottola.

Rihanna admits mistake

November 6th, 2009

The singer recently admitted that going back to Chris Brown after he beat her up was a big mistake. Rihanna said the following in regards to this: “I was so far in love, so unconditional that I went back. It’s humiliating to say this happened. To accept that? It’s a traumatizing experience I stayed. I even went back after he beat me, which was wrong. But again … I’m a human being, and people put me on a very unrealistic pedestal.” She actually went back? What kind of sane person does that anyway? Issues, Rihanna, issues… consult your local psychiatrist for more info. Who knows, he might just have the perfect prescription drug for you!

Joss Stone VS Lily Allen

November 6th, 2009

Joss Stone must be desperate to promote her latest album because she’s taken to insulting Lily Allen publicly. According to Joss, Lily’s making a big stink about people illegally downloading music because she’s not a real singer. Joss said “She needs to sell records because she’s not a singer, and that’s not an offence to her because I think that she knows that too. I think she’s a performer and she’s more of a personality than she is a singer. But I think when musicians are really making real music people come to the show and that’s what we make our money from, from playing live… So the downloads – she’s not going to win that fight. None of us will win that fight. So let’s just accept it and let’s see it as something that can be beautiful and it might change music for the better. It might sort the weeds from the flowers.”
